I've seen so many people not using training camps, why is that? Is it because you find you're kinda cheating since your rider's attributes will increase? And if so, don't you think it's fair if you play in a difficulty that decreases them (Hard, Extreme)?
I thought it added realism to the the game since you can evolve irl (although not as much, obviously). Your thoughts?
Personally, I see it as pure cheating. The AI can't send their riders to training camps, which gives you an unfair advantage over them.
I play on:
Medium
Extreme
No camps
Evolution 0.5
Random Potential
Well, I can understand that, but for example, as of PCM10 both Contador and Andy Schleck have 93 MO which I think is pretty fair, since they seem to be on the same level. However, if you play on Extreme with either of them, its like playing with a Igor Anton/S Sanchez/D Menchov level of player, which I less right. I thought it was more realistic to raise the level 1/2 points and be in the same level, even though I understand you can make a player too unrealistic for like a month's time in the game, which is pretty much.
I guess I will use them to make my riders in those conditions in the same level as some of AI riders but not take unrealistic moves.
Well, for me it is Medium on the financial part but I guess Hard doesn't make it much harder since it only affects the first season, I guess; and Hard on the race, but I intend to change it to Extreme soon

You should only play on extreme if you are too good on all other levels.
If you cannot win on a certain difficulty without the camps, then why play on that level?
Basically you should only use training camps if you have trouble winning on easy.
The hardest level on both, training camps yes. But i expect some problems with money Playing with BMC, not for long, now i'm in april, best placeing i reached was twice 2 in a stage with Van Avarmaet and Ballan, and i think 4 or 5 overall with Hincapie. Everithing is planed for TDF with Evans, even bankroll . Hope for no crashes, otherwise there will be some bankrupcy ).
Previous versions of PCM i was playing and winning grand tours and big stages on hard both, how it will be in PCM 11 will see, i just started playing.

You really don't play on the hardest level if you are using camps.

I see your point... I'm just not sure what's more realistic. Well, I'll give both ways a try
I think you overrate using of training camps.
First of all you spend more money, so you need to have more good results over the season to stay in green. Also a few high stat numbers by using few camps doesn't give you such advantage, because AI can maintain high form longer trough season than you.
For examle how can Contador declases me in few early seasons small tours like parise - nice, win TDF and than declases me on Vuelta and win it too just a few weeks after TDF. On Vuelta i was riding with Evans on his best form in season, because i didn't ride TDF, early seasons with Hincapie on his best form in season, and so on... (this is based on PCM 10, PCM 11 don't have long enough).
I mean Contador is good, but it's not real how long he is in good form. You saw it on this year TDF, where Evans was just too good, because he was prepearing just for TDF. And i don't think there is any way in real for Contador to win Vuelta over Evans if he want to win TDF too. In game favourites are just too long in good form.
It's like in real if someone is prepearing fore some race he trains and than he can be better on that race, even the other rider is overall better rider.
And think it's very hard if not imposible to beat Contador with Evans on TDF on hardest level with no training, it's very hard even when you use it.
Sorry for useing these two riders so much, but i wanted to use a real example )
Actually I don`t think your example is very good as I think Contador could do it but would become off topic.
The AI riders have exactly the same form system than you. And it is definitely possible to have a training schedule for Paris Nice, Tour and Vuelta.
And why should it be too unrealistic? Gilbert has a super form all over the season so far.
And training camps aren`t overrated as the bring a big boost, a boost that only your riders get. Explain it as extra training as the focus on this race, but then, why only your riders should be able to focus this race.
And as AI riders don`t have the fitness advantage in my opinion as it`s just up to you to make a good training schedule, the training camps are the most "useless" thing in PCM at the moment.
