great goal by McFadden
but England with a suprisingly good performance against Russia and (can't belive i'm saying this) Heskey isn't a total donkey
Barry has been superb so far and Phillips and Micah are awesome
hopefully England will qualify now

England are going to be in it
they are 2nd currently, so unless there are some huge hiccups (well it is england i suppose) then they will qualify

it's not that...it's the fact only he, Ricardo and Dida would miss that. even my grandmother would catch it (slight exaggeration perhaps)
not that I'm in any way suggesting Ricardo or Dida are anywhere near Landreau's league...

Landreau, Ricardo, Dida, all good keepers...B)
Well, Owen scored two goals, the second of 'em was beautiful...
The one of Ferdinand was awesome too...
And about Portugal, terrible game, btw...I was prediscting that Serbia goal.

Ferdinand
that little shimmy he put in didn't even work, but the ball went in anyway
and yes it is very good to see Owen scoring, 40 goals in 85 England appearences now, and he is finally getting into my good books again after living off his past reputation for the past few years
also in great form somethings like 6 in 5 for club and country

we are now taking bets on whether he'll get his annual 6-month-injury in November or December

It's Ferdinand's year, so this time he will not get injured (dangerous bet)

there's a rumour going around (yes, rumour. there's ZERO chance of it being true) saying that Pinto da Costa has been calling Federation president MadaĆl demanding that Scolari be fired.
whoever made up that rumour was very intelligent. it's the one way to guarantee that Scolari won't be fired. because now if Scolari were to be fired, fans would complain that it was just because Pinto da Costa demanded it.
this, of course, only applies to those who would find the time away from complaining that the fault for Portugal losing points lies solely with [insert every player who plays or has ever played for Porto]. and of course, this does not apply to Sporting fans, as those are generally not as biased as a certain club's
