Nice to see some aggressive riding from Barth, Partridge and Tennant. Would be useful to know the all important teams classification, at least after Stage 2, to see what the starting order for the TTT will be. Otherwise, great reporting Smowz.

He started from so far back as well
Notes that the most of 'big boys' seem to have skipped Oman

WE ARE BACK!
Finally Meyer did something. I was loosing faith in him when he didn't even try to sprint in Qatar. The much stronger competition in Qatar is of course one fat reason but I also suspect Ballan can have something to do with it. Ballan out and Pedraza in was the only difference between my team here and in Qatar.

Decent start from Lavoine. He picked a good wheel, but wasn't able to go to the front. Hopefully he will be able to jump a bit further up, and secure us some points...

Vaugrenard and De Kort should save some energy for the TTT too. Another failure is unacceptable.

Castaneda looked to finish fairly strongly - bit gutted he got confused about which way to come around the man in front. Seemed to go right - left - right in the video which didn't help matters.

Great job by Farrar, perhaps if the train starts in a better position and doesn't have to burry itself to get back to the front JVH can pick up a win.

Damnit, a hopeless teams classification, that may well screw up my TTT hopes

Vaugrenard obviously ignores the advices and exhausts before the TTT.
And Santander obviously mixed the days and started the TTT today. Crazy Tour.
Congrats to Festina. |

Yeah, a bunch of TTTers attacking off the front these first two days, knowing they were never actually gonna get away...

Congrats SotD, but especially I am happy for Lavoine.
Good job by Vanderaerden so far, but hopefully he will get more points for me from this race.

Yeah it seems I wasn't too unrealistic when I said he could be a succesful sprinter this season. Last year he only got one 3rd place all year... I'm not going to jinx it, so if this was his only win this year it's still satisfying

Better than mine.
But Santander are happily mocking those taking this race seriously, a three man suicide TTT is the best thing that can happen to any flat stage

Meyer 2nd, I'll take that any day. Lavoine was simple better.
But whats up with the team classification? I'm dead last?

PCM always messes up the team classifications from stage 2 onwards if there are no time differences.
