@Valverde321: Thanks for the praise and for the help, here you can see how "well" Bole did.
Santos Tour Down Under, 1st stage
Profile
This profile should suit Grega Bole well,he loves slightly uphill finishes, but he admited he is not in good condition.Expect sprinter big-guns to fight for the victory.
Our riders Kondrut and Krivtsov working right from the start to catch an early break (Stybar,Mondory + 4 more).
Now it is clear why all that pacemaking from Lampre, Spezialetti attacks as KOM sprint is near.
Not a great attack at all,but he still manages to win the KOM ahaead of Gourov and Bak.
After few unsuccessfull attacks our man Daniele Rigi escaped with Guarnieri and Lastras. He finished right between those two at both intermediate sprints.
Break had max advantage 5 minutes, but is catched at 12kms to go mark thanks to joint forces of HTC,Omega and Garmin.
Spezialetti is leading out Bole with 4kms to go. Cavendish,Greipel and Farrar in perfect position. Bole suddenly fades badly and Cavendish with Farrar blasts to the line.
Wanna close finish boys? Then you will love this one! Real thriller, but who finished first?
And the winner is ...
Grega Bole finished 14th,still nice result considering his abyssmal condition.
I am quite happy with our first performance of the season, Spezialetti is in the KOM jersey and Grega did all what he could in the sprint finish, he just needs to gain more fitness. Also Daniele Righi's attack was entertaining.

Maybe Bole will make a Top-10 in further stages.. but it's truly bad luck that he got that low fitness-level.. nice KoM-lead though!

Santos Tour Down Under, 2nd stage
Profile
This stage is not very interesting for my team, it should end in the sprint. The end of stage is pretty flat so the favourites are the best sprinters, not a terrain for Grega Bole actually.
Lampre boys relaxing in the middle of the pack. They are not bothered by lots of early attacks. In blue colours is A.Spezialetti, the leader of the KOM competition.
Finally large breakaway group is established with Matthews, Urtasun and again Stybar, to name just a few.
Fran Peréz just edges out Pelucchi and Mouris at the only KOM sprint of the day. The advantage melts down quickly - 5 minutes with 60kms to go.
Breakway still holds a minute advantage with 13kms left.
3kms to go and again superb train by HTC. Bole is suffering and tries to hang on Kondrut's wheel.
Eisel launching the "Manx missile" as Pozzato is fighting for 2nd place against Thomas, Bozic and Vaitkus. Bole has just died.
And Bang! Second in a row for Cavendish, what a show. Farrar 2nd coming from nowhere with Bozic completing the podium. Bole finished on disapointing 28th place.
This stage went completly as expected, strong breakway once again destroyed by power of HTC, they brought really good team here. Grega Bole will now wait probably for Willunga stage to try something, while Alessandro Spezialetti should fight to hold the KOM jersey as long as possible.

Santos Tour Down Under, 3rd stage
Profile
The 3rd stage is one of the toughest this year, but dont expect gaps. The route should suite the hilly sprinter and as i have one in my squad, i expect him to be better then yesterday.
It is windy today in Australia, but that doesn't prevent many riders including our own Alessandro Spezilaetti from attacking before 1st sprint bonus.
Daniele Righi attacks just as the former break is caught. I told the riders to be agressive today.
Strong group of 4 (Nieve,S.Clark,Nocentini,Rast) goes from the pack after today's second sprint won by Ongarato from the leading group of 13, with Righi present.
Stybar is the most attacking rider in this years Tour Down Under and he is awarded by KOM competition jersey lead for that. Spezialetti must answer in the later stages. The break never holds more then 3mins advantage.
The break is gone with 10 kms left and Grega bole is well positioned behind Alessandro. Cavendish in the leader's jersey and his army up front.
Here is Spezialetti with great lead-out for Grega Bole, but it probably too soon. 2kms to go.
And then it went wrong with my screenshots, so only by words, sorry for that:
" 1km to the line and it is all Katusha versus blasting Niki Terpstra and Grega Bole who is searching for his first top 10 here. But he has no energy left and finished in decent 9th.
Meanwhile Terpstra holds to the win in front of Paolini and Pozzato."
We lost the KOM jersey today, but Alessandro will try to fight back. Grega had great position today and break into top 10 , now he looks forward to the 5th stage. Terpstra was super fast today and Katusha was very strong.

Santos Tour Down Under, 4th stage
Profile
Profile of fourth stage is similar to the stage two, so i really dont expect results from our guys, maybe some break with a bit of luck.
Spezialetti attacks, as we planned, before the KOM sprint, together with K.Fernandez,Gardeyn and five more riders. Alessandro finishes second on the hill and takes the jersey back.
The break was caught at the half of the stage and immediately new strong attack by four riders. These are Burghardt, J.Rodriguez, C.Meier and Rosseler.
Spezialetti and Szelghami leading-out Bole, peloton still a minute behind the break where C.Meier has just attacked with 6kms to go.
C.Meier has it in the bag, Farrar and Pozzato will soon catch the remains of the breakaway. Bole faded once more and will be glad for top 20 placement.
Yes, congratulations goes to Canada, what a result for him and his team. Farrar again strong second and is now only 2seconds behind Cav in GC. Also nice third for Burghardt, who still had something left. Bole finished as 18th.
Lots of attacks throughout the day, the last breakway was strong and C.Meier was able to escape the others and scored a fantastic win. I am happy for Alessandro, Grega was saving himself for tommorow.

I thought you will be happy about Meier.
I will need more races to handle the different sprints, but i like the game and on the hills and mountains it should be fine.

Sprints are definitely the most difficult part in PCM11, especially in extreme. So your results are quite okay so far!

You may not be having a nice time when the sprints matter, but you have the Mountains jersey in your team. You'll improve during the career. |

Santos Tour Down Under, 5th stage
Profile
This stage could be the race decider and i hope Grega Bole will stay with the best at the Willunga hill and then put a decent sprint to the line. Our riders will also try to sneak into the breakaway. Overall the race is not decided yet, both cavendish and Farrar could have the tough time to stay in the front group.
Lampre chasing down the early break, they probably want to try something on that sprint point. On this shot you can see brand new equipment of my boys, it got lost on the plane and arrived yesterday evening (Great job by Boogie and BikeFreak and their pack).
And job well done, as Greba Bole fills the plan and wins first sprint for the bonus seconds, his lead-out Krivtsov finished third behind Ponzi.
Spezialetti slips into the break of the day and as they are now approaching Willunga hill for the first time, the gap to the pack is 4.50 and starts to decrease.
Alessandro is first at the top and gains very important points to the KOM competition. You can see the pack is not far away now.
The breakaway still holds almost two minutes advantage as they are starting to climb this very steep hill for the second time today.
The pack rolls over the top, all favourites in there, but breakway riders are still very strong and have advantage of minute and a half. Spezialetti wasn’t able to grab more mountain points.
Now the pack catches the break on 2.5kms mark and it seems the slower riders are blocking the sprinters, Bole unfortunately one of them. Cavendish is once again in great position.
But in the end it is Tyler Farrar who gets the win and the leader’s jersey. He came like a rocket from the back as second Cav and third „Gorilla“ were not able to catch his wheel. Bole was again disapponting 31st, but moves to the 9th overall.
This was very entertaining stage, strong break almost made it to the line and again dominant performance from Tyler Farrar. Alessandro Spezialetti increased the lead in KOM competition and must watch the oponnents in the last stage. Grega was probably tired from the intermidiate sprint, but is awarded by a top 10 placement for that. So pretty good stage for us afterall.

Very nice story so far, I enjoy reading it. Good job on that intermediate sprint, if you succeed once again, you would be in Top 4-5 - in case there is one intermediate sprint on the last stage, which I'm not sure of.
A personal opinion on the screens: I think, some of them are a bit too far away. E.g. the one from the sprint preparation could be more "informative" if it was closer.

Thanks, you are right some screens should be from the closer look, i will work on that, i am still searching for the best way of capturing the race so any suggestions as yours are welcomed.
I am not sure too about the sprints in the last stage, maybe two are there, Grega will fight to win at least one

Nice job so far! Good to see Farrar is winning not only in my career
Bole got some nice results there, hope you can bring him into the top 5 maybe. Good luck for that. |
