Great way for Oz to show themselves in the first race. I was hoping Matthews would hold on to the end!
As for my team, pleased with Docker's 7th, though somewhat disappointed by the overall lack of team presence.
Davies looking unbeatable right now...

Well, that's made this season twice as good as last for Davis already
Looks like my team will be expected to do a lot of the work all tour as well, which might kill them towards the end |

Considering he was nowhere with 1500m to go, Impey launched a damn fine sprint. Looked like manic fight for position behind Davis's wheel. It seems my guys are liking mid stage breakaways here in Australia!
Hollister take charge of the race really from day one, that looks a tough prospect.
Awful day for Saab Scania though, Wyss looked one of the better punchaers and with their lack of a sprinter I would have said certain to have been active in the later stages.

Hopefully Matt Lloyd can show himself in the later stages, but it was a nice stage by one of our sprinters Nishitani to get the most KoM points. And I saw a Meiji rider in the Top 15, thats always good.
I have to say Oz really stood out for me. I think the battle for last place in the CT will be an interesting thing to follow, for me atleast, since Meiji will certainly be close.

First of all, thanks! I'm quite satisfied with our performance here And I'm looking forward to some nice battles between our teams! We may not be the strongest, but we still can make some races interesting

I'm surprised Davis is sprinting from so far out. I bet he can win if he waits a bit longer. i also love how the breakaway get reeled in so close to the line. One of these days the peleton's going to mess it up.

It seems like the game just forces the 'best' sprinter to build a lead out train, whether they have a good enough lead out train or not - Dempster isnt a sprinter, he is a time trailist - and that can be bad news for said sprinter, as he often then has to go too early, because the lead out rider dies. But hey, Davis won the first 2 attempts at it, so it cant be all bad - be nice to have different trains though.

Nearly a Top 10! Hopefully Park can crack the Top 10 tommorow.
Also does Meiji earn points for leading the KoM classification?
Great reporting too MB!

Took 3 points on Stage 1, but now shares it with Priamo, so on Stage 2, he and Priamo get 1 point each. (No half points)

Oh I see there are different tabs at the bottom in the Points Scale files. I was looking on the One Day Races tab

Congrats to Ciolek! Not much to say about Oz for 2nd stage.. Cooke's 13th quite disappointing. Hope he will improve in next one and to see one of our riders in a breakaway, too.

I think Cooke is going to find stage 3 quite difficult, I expect it to be quite a tough one. Possibly tough enough to blow away some of the sugerpuff fairly high up on GC at the moment
Bianchi are in an interesting position also, they have one of the best punchaers in the race in Rabon waiting in the wings. But tomorrow I am guessing they may try to keep Ciolek in the lead.
The guy to watch though as pointed out in the previews has got to be Ben Nasser after two Cavendish frustrations they have to release plan B.
Meanwhile Jayco Red Bull have about 5 plans to choose at the moment, two of which have begun others waiting in the wings Muhahahahaha!
Finally the 'Arashiro' of this year has got to be Venchi's Marinangeli, two high placed finished for a sprinter who can climb definately up there with Davis and Impey as a genuine GC threat.

Thank you (twitter + forum congrats)
A stage win wasn't the official team man-game goal but with that competition there had to be one
Good to see Ciolek that good sprinting I think from a bit too far behind in positioning
Actually I think the game will mess it up and try everything for Ciolek but I hope Gil is really trying something on the Willunga hill (or is it another hill?) but I doubt he could make up 3 minutes attacking on the first hill
Rabon would be actually a lot better (GC wise) but he isn't that good in mountains unfortunetly but if he comes over the hills he might Top 3 there in a sprint as he isn't that bad
I think Ciolek isn't going up the finish with the 1st group, maybe too hard for him and so will lose the jersey

I'm impressed by Marinangeli. Even in this "easy" sprint he managed bonus seconds and a 3rd place. He needs to position himself better though. He has been to far behind with 1 km to go in both sprints.

Hopefully Docker can go one better at some point and grab us a podium. Still, pleased with 4th. Nice seeing a rider in the break, too - for a moment, I thought they might make it, and Pauwels was in with a pretty good shot.

Congrats to Gerrans for a nice win! Bobridge looked good for Oz, too.. a bit surprised to see William Ford helping the pack on the chase with Bobridge being ahead.. I will have to talk to Ford, though we're quite pleased with 9th and 10th within that stage and Matthews in the break again defending his Young-jersey.

Nice attack by Gerrans, the Australians continue winning in their own competition.

Marinangeli is still doing great sprints, and now we got the points jersey!
Congratulations to Smowz!
