Contador should be going for the stage. He can't take GC.
Contador won't be going for anything, for the same reason he couldn't handle the main group today: he doesn't have it, whatever you wanna call it (strength, health, beef). If he had anything to give today he would have given it to reach the front.
This TdF is over for Alberto imo.
Could be interesting to see if today was an "off-day" or if this is really what he has left in the tank - I'm not a Contador-fan, but I sort of think he deserves a stage win on top of all the crashes and the overall bad luck he's had in this tour.
Honestly, I can understand if the Giro was just too hard this year for him to recover.
He shouldn't have been here in the first place, so it's fine by me if he comes away with nothing |

EBH will attack at the very moment that Prudhomme waves his flag and leave the others behind one by one, including all Danes, Frenchmen, Luxembourgians and Britons before Dag Otto Lauritzen, Christian Paasche and Johan Kaggestad will have heart attacks as he crosses the line 5 minutes before everybody else.
Schleck will crack on the Galibier, the whole team except Frankie drops down to help him, he will veer from side to side with his teammates metres ahead while he uses his desperate breath to shout "va t'en" to the cameraman.
Voeckler and Rolland will cling onto the wheel of Evans, (who has given up after attacking hundreds and hundreds of times up the Alpe without dropping the Frenchies) and crossing the line with a big grin on their faces, before entering the Contrôle Anti-Dopage-bus to deliver blood and urin full of EPO and other stuff.
Schleck will not make the time limit, along with the whole Leopard team except Frank. After the finish, he is in tears and crying like a little baby because the others made a too hard pace
Is this what is going to happen? Hope at leas part of it will....

Edit: or Ten Dam or Ruijgh.

So...is Rojas a good enough climber to get in the break and last until the intermediate sprint? And even if he is, will he try? It's a bit risky...
It would liven things up a bit, though.

So, how much time do you think Evans need on Schleck to win this ? 1 minute ?

Samu needs to forget about that 8th place in GC and needs to get 30 points at Telegraph and Galibier. So he should attack early to win Polka Dot.
He'll have Vanendert on his wheel immediately if he tries.
So? Even if Vanendert will be second on both climbs, but Sacnhez 1st, Samu still will be ahead of Vanendert.
I didn't say that Vanendert was going to be second on both climbs. There is a good chance that he beats Sánchez on them.
I'm sorry but...
1 Jelle Vanendert (Bel) Omega Pharma-Lotto 74 pts
2 Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez (Spa) Euskaltel-Euskadi 72
3 Andy Schleck (Lux) Leopard Trek 70
4 Fränk Schleck (Lux) Leopard Trek 56
5 Cadel Evans (Aus) BMC Racing Team 50
with andy just two points behind samu and forty points being awarded on the Alpe, there is not much chance for either vanendert or samu unless they get all the points on telegraphe and galibier, which is doubtful and samu then finishes top 5

Don't expect that much from Andy tomorrow. He has to be a little bit tired from his solo ride today.

If Evans and the Schlecks all stay together to Alpe d'Huez (and drop Voeckler), and keep the same gaps as now, I would give them 65-34-1 (Evans-Andy-Fränk). And Fränk gets 1 only because both Evans and Andy COULD both crash out during the TT. :-) |

I think Andy needs a minute for the win, Frank some more time (if they can profit from the maillot jaune boost). So Evans should try to put some more time between Andy and him.
And there´s the possibility Evans f*cks the TT up again.

Cadel needs to gain time tomorrow on both Voeckler and Andy, cause I don't think he can melt a 1 minute deficite in the ITT on Saturday. The ITT isn't so flat and long, but we'll see. I'm praying for Cadel this night and the next one . |

I'd say that Evans easily gains a minute and a half on Andy and 2'30 on Frank. They are gonna be the ones attacking tomorrow, not Evans.
