Did you ever uninstall all audio drivers from your system? According to the log there is a problem. Look in the "Device Manager" for a speaker symbol and uninstall all items in there. Make sure to activate "Show hidden devices" prior doing it.
If you have a sound card installed, then you might need to deactivate the on-board sound in the BIOS now. Then start your windows but do not install the drivers, just cancel it. Now try to run the game.
Obviously you will need to install some drivers later, so only do this if you know where to find the latest drivers for your sound card. |

Since today I have this problem too. Unbelievable bad product. There is no way to fix this and Cyanide is not responding.
My day is so f..ked up! |

I did all of that Lachi, except the deactivation of my card in the BIOS.
But now my pcm.log looks different.

So this is everything? And the game still does not run?
About the BIOS, you need to deactivate the on-board sound, not your card. Of course this does not apply if you have no card installed. |

Yeah still doesn't run.
So could the problem be that it doesn't run because I dont have a sound card? I dont think I have one anyway.

I purchased it a few days ago, and encounter exactly the same problem: on launch, I get the error 'PCM has stopped working'.
Tried the following already:
- update with latest patch
- rename the Videos folder
- reinstall several times
- run as administrator
- update drivers (graphics/audio)
- disable firewalls, etc
- reinstall sound cards
I'm kinda running out of options....Any luck so far in getting the game to work anyone? |

If you have a notebook then you have no card but there is a sound chip on your motherboard. Maybe this sound chip is not enough (Cyanide min. system requirements: SOUND CARD: DIRECTX 9 COMPATIBLE).
I cannot help you further. (Just don't forget to install the drivers for your sound if you have not already) |

Play the game in windowed mode. When the game crashes you probably an errormessage appears in the bottom of the screen. What does is says? |
