I understand why Contador's fearing Crostis' downhill, just before the Monte Zoncolan
This Giro is just gonna be so ...
...EPIC ! can't wait

There's nothing to worry, they're going to put nets on the sides of the road. Even Fränk Schleck would be safe. |

Wow, that must be one of the most dangerous descents in the history of Grand Tours in the past years. O.o |

Nah, they're going to put nets just like the ones they have in alpine skying in the sides of the descent (or something similar). It'd be really, really commendable to jump over one of them, so I reckon Schleck I would be safe.
I wouldn't be sure about Soler, though. |

This text made me laugh out loud looking very much forward to the Giro. Though it will be hard beating the Giro of last year. We shall see!! |

Geox has a really strong team with Sastre, Menchov and Rafael Valls. Really excited to see this giro. Some intense stages. |

Anyone still got doubts the giro is the best GT?

yep, I fear Contador will be boring and win comfortably
The Tour this year is shaping up to be awesome.

It may be a good thing: he won't win the Tour too...at least it's a smaller chance for him after doing the Giro at maximum capacity! |

After showing my excellent predicting skills in the Ardennes I'm giving it a shot to predict the Top 10 in the Giro too.
1. Michele Scarponi
2. Igor Antón
3. Vincenzo Nibali
4. Alberto Contador
5. JoaquÃm RodrÃguez
6. José Rujano
7. Denis Menchov
8. Thomas Löfkvist
9. Roman Kreuziger
10. Tiago Machado
I don't have any good explaination why I think so, but I'm going for Scarponi to win. He has been looking good this season and I think he will be even better than last year here.
Antón will be the only one that can follow Scarponi in the mountains, but loses too much time to Scarponi in the TT. He still manages to finish second, less than a minute behind Scarponi.
Nibali will ride consistant through the whole Giro, but can't really follow Antón and Scarponi in the mountains, which costs him the Giro title. He manages to grab the last podium spot thanks to his consistency.
Contador will crack on the stage to Gardeccia and lose a couple of minutes to the other favourites. Because of that, he loses the podium spot he has owned for the first two weeks of the Giro. After the Giro he say that everything is because of his allergies, before beind suspended by UCI and stripped off his Tour title.
The rest is more of a lottery. RodrÃguez will perform well in the mountains, but lose much time in the TT:s. Menchov saves a Top 10 thanks to his good TT:ing, as he couldn't follow the best in the mountains. Löfkvist, Rujano, Kreuziger and Machado will all lose some time in the mountains, but still perform well enough to finish in the Top 10.
Mark Cavendish won't win a single stage, while Tyler Farrar takes 4 and wins the points jersey, one point ahead of Antón.

That's a nice prediction, Pellizotti, but I think this Giro is too hard for Lofkvist to be in the best 10. I think when he was inside the top-10 back in 2009, he lost many places after the Monte Petrano stage. Then, it was downhill, losing the young rider jersey for Seeldrayers, too.

He has a chance. He got some good training beofre Giro in high mountains and didn't race very much. The whole team will support him - all 8 riders will ride for him. If he manages his recovery well and will be consistent then he a has a chance. Would be big achievement for him.

I know that I'm a bit biased about him, but he is a much better rider than he was in 2009. Last year he took a big step with riding consistantly through the whole Tour and not crack in any stage. This year he has said that he is even better than last year.
I know that it might be hard for him to get a Top 10, but I believe he can. Come on Thomas!

Lets hope that it isn't as hot as it was when Löfkvist broke down last time, and that if it is, he can cope better. |

Forget Igor Anton for the GC. Euskaltel will go for their first stage in the Giro. Probably he will lost time the first week (he said he doesnt want to enter in the fight of the narrow roads of the first mountains) and try to win a stage in the last week. (Probably the uphill TT)
Igor will go for the GC in the Vuelta.
