In my astana game a have Contador, Vino, Bazayev, Allan Davis ( good sprinter ). My goals are ( at least for 3 big tours ) mountain jerseys in Giro, win in TDF and top 10 in Vuelta.
My strategy is to sent Vinokourov in Giro ( hoo knows, maybe he can win there ). Contador in TDF...a easy task because in my opinion PCM 2010 is a easy game if you have a very good team ( and I have it ). In Vuelta I have a problem...the goal is top 10. For that I want to sent Contador. Another option are Oscar Pereiro or Bazayev ( but this 2...I'M not sure 100% for a top 10 finish. Thats way I want to sent Contador. The problem is somewone from another forum tell me Contador is best to have at least 20 race days until his main objectives ( TDF ). Thus TDF ( 21 days ) means 41 days race for Contador after TDF. I'm not sure if he can make a top 10 in Vuelta in that condition and another rider capable to finish in top 10 in a main tour I haven't.
Gasparoto, V Iglinsky and M Iglinsky isn't capable. They are capable to win tour like Paris Nice, Tireno, Lombardia, etc.
I don't know Vino's 2010 stats, but he might do something there.
Contador having 20 race days before the TdF isn't recommended if he wants to ride both Tour and Vuelta.
I would say:
- About 10 race days(Dauphine/Suisse, maybe 1 or 2 one-day's and NC's maybe?) before the TdF, then 21 race days in TdF(obviously), after TdF maybe ride a few preperation days for the Vuelta, and then Vuelta(and if you want, the WC and Lombardia)
20 days before riding the Tour isn't necassary. 8-15 is though, for the race fitness. The Tour(most of the time) hasn't got a mountain stage in the first week, so you can use those 5-7 days as 'preparation' for the mountain stage too.

Please don't get the impression this is a forum unfriendly to new users with basic questions.
Many users here devote much of their time helping others with different aspects of the game, and our combined knowledge is sufficient to answer any rational question that can be answered...editing basically every parameter of a career savegame to your liking, creating new content for the game (stages, jerseys, equipment...) and answering all questions regarding game mechanics.
The problem is definitely not the lack of motivation to answer, it's definitely not the lack of knowledge, it's simply overlooking the thread.
This rarely happens in the subforums for the newer editions 11 and 12 because if we miss the new post on the front page, many have a look at those frequently and find unanswered questions. The older editions get few attention from advice-seekers, and thus from advice-givers as well.
I don't know if you read along since you registered and know about this, but if you don't, have a look at all those threads where sometimes up to 3 people answer such questions in the same minute shortly after they were posted, and look at post counts from guys like lluuiiggii or Lachi, of which a significant amount derives from helping others.

Vino have good stats in PCM 2010 79 mountains, 80 hill, 80 downhill, 77 or 78 TT, ans stamina, resistance is good too ( between 78-80 ). I think is a good choise for winning mountain jersey in Giro ( maibe even for overall ).
Regarding Contador, I understand too. Anyway, in my team are only 5 riders below 25 age, so I keept only one trainer ( international ) for this 5 guys. The others has no trainer ( I think trainers are unnecesary in a team aged between 28 -30 or above.

Does someone remember how are promoted the continental teams in PCM2010 (I think it was super prestige ranking but not sure):
- The 2 best continental teams of the super prestige ranking (like newer PCM)?
Or
- The 2 best continental teams of the continental ranking (like older PCM)?
Ok, so i play 3 season in pcm 2010 now ( 1 season on 3d, the other simulate ). This is my conclusion:
I play with astana on normal mode ( easy on first few racers because i was a beginer in this game ) and i won most race...tur du var, tireno, catalunia, trentino, giro, lombardia, pologne, etc. In tour du france a finish 3rd whith contador but my objectiv was climber jersey.
Starting whith season 2 i play on quick simulation and the result was almost the same.
But, in the begining of season 3 i was socked...few riders with 80 mountain, hill, stamina, rec and resistance ( ov clasification rider ) ...Cadel, vinokourov, valverde, sanchez, basso, etc has retired. And the game starting to lose his playabylity. A won paris nice and catalunia with rider with 75-77 on atribute. And the rider with 80 plus on atribute are very few...cancelara, cavendish ( ho are sprinters ), contador, andy schleck, porte, roache ( this guys are in my team ), sastre, cunego...and the list stop here.
So:
1. This game sucks. First season is ok ( in minimum normal mode...easy is simply ridiculous easy..non combat by the AI teams :lol ), but then the database simply crack many very good and good riders retired and nobody to take theyr place. The artificial inteligente is simply not good enouth to generate good riders.
2. Staring with season 2 i do a lot of scout but VERRY FEW riders with good potential ( excelent potential mising almost completely ).
3. Starting with season 3 the AI team, the AI training plan dosnt seem to make veryy good riders ( the atribute for the very best riders in AI team are stuck between 70-78 ). The riders with atribute above 80 are the rider in the beginig of the game hoo dosnt retired, yet.
4. I starting another career mode with saxo because i want to have some fun and to make some training camp ( just for fun and to observe what impact has training camps. I do training camp with schleck brothers, voght, fuglsand, and other few ( everybody above 80 mountain, tt and hills ). Obviosly i won everufyng but the efect of training camp last for entire season ( i do training camp in february-april and in october the atribute of rider still the same, the efect of training camp dont desapear ). TOTAL UNREALISTIK.
5. In season 3 the best riders in the game are in my team...and train with trainer, not with training camp .
MY conclusion for PCM 2010 :
Is a ridiculous easy game, with many bugs. Don't need to be a PCM series fan or a PCM game expert to obtain victories, even in hard mode. Is a waste of time.
NOW...a friend give me PCM 2012 to tries. Told me that this is a much good game. My opinion after i play 5 season ( in this case ) and all my season was simulated...THE SAME GAME, THE SAME AI INEFECTIVENES, THE SAME BUSG AND UNPLAYABILITY.
MY final conclusion: THE PCM SERIES IN A WASTE OF TIME. I DON'T PLAY PCM IN THE PAST, I AM NOT GOOD FOT THAT KAIND OF GAMES, BUT EVEN NON - EXPERIENCED PLAYERS WON 90% OF THE RACE AND TOURS. ESPECIALY AFTER THE FIRST SEASON...BECAUSE THE GAME SIMPLY CRACK...GOOD RIDERS DESAPEAR AND YOUR TEAM BECOME ABSOLUTE LEADER IN THIS GAME. IN SEASON 2 YOU STARTING TO WON TOURS...IMPORTANT TOURS WITH RIDER BETWEEN 70-80 AT ATRIBUTE.
IF ANOTHER STUDIO DECIDE TO ENTER AT THIS MARKET O CICLING SIMULATOR, I THINK pcm WILL BECOME A GOOD GAME BECAUSE OF COMPETITION.UNTIL THEN...PCM IS A WASTE OF TIME GAME!!!

I'm afraid you don't read carefully my last comment, my friend. I said that i played this game at easy, then normal mode, i say that i played with ASTANA TEAM. I don't say that i make use of training camp in ASTANA GAME but in SAXOBANK TEAM ( and made this just for watch the influence of training camp on a rider...just for that. Just for that i play another career with SAXOBANK ).
When you use training camp does not mean YOU CHEAT. Using a training camp don't mean your team in exceptional and you winn all the race/stage. I say you win ALMOST every race, stage. IN PCM games you can make training camp for hard or extreme mode, because if you play on that mode you don't win anything important without training camp. In Australian Tour, Du Var, you can win, but for TdF, Giro, on hard/extreme dificulty you need training camp. In the real life, a rider DO a lot of training camp to make an impresion in a main tour...so my friend...this is not a cheat. If tge game allow you to make this is NOT CHEAT. Cheat is when you edit some files with no mather what editor. Cheat is when you enter no mather what code to have infinite stamina, ammo, life ( see FPS games ). Cheat is when you edit files like money or even the stats of a rider. In Cicling manager 3 and cicling manager 4, even the AI controled team make A LOT of training camps.
In my previos comment i say my own opinion about the game. I say this game is full of bugs, the database crack after a couple of season ( after 2-3 season ). This mean that rider like Valverde, Sastre, Basso, Vinokourov, Valdevelde, Petachi, etc has retired and nobody take theyr place...NIbali ho is potential 7 in the begining of the game has 77-78 in bouth montain and hills, and almost the same in stamina, rec and res. In the begining of season 3 his stats is...THE SAME??? I ensure you that NIBALI still can improve a lot in that stats...but he doesn't. He seems stuck with that stats. And the examples continue...if you want. Brechel...a sprinter/cobble rider...a brought him on astana but his stats olso...doesn't improve anymore...and he has a lot of potential and the trainer was legendary...
MY friend, this is my opinion about the game, after 3 season the best rider quit and the best rider in the game is...gues where...yes IN YOUr TEAM...AND WITHOUT MAKE USE OF TRAINING CAMPS.

Luigi, NO offence, undobhtedly you know how to play.
A friend told me how to obtain winn even in hard/extreme mode and even without training camp. Is not cheat...simply is about a game full of bugs.
To obtain wins in hard- extreme mode is simply about the relationship between DOT BUTTON, COUNTER BUTTON and FOLLOW BOTTON.
NEVER about the ATTAK BUTTON.
On easy mode this game is non combat by the ai teams
on normal is still ridiculous easy.
on hard is ...normal
on extreme is ALL ABOUT THAT 3 BUTTONS...if you obtain the balance between that buttons, you win stages, races even on that dificulti level. If you do some training camp ( not a cheat in my point of view ) you won easy on extreme.
Thats way a said this game is a waste of time.
AND...RIDER. a don't sign the best rider in the game. I sign only schleck, Porte, Roache, Brechel, because Oscar Pereiro, Vinokourov, Blasquez, De la Fuente has retired or sign with another team.

1. You have quite some nerve going on to a PCM fan community and bitching about the game, we all know that the game is buggy, but most of the time it is a very realistic and enjoyable game.
2. You say that the game is too easy? Maybe stop playing with the best riders, and if you still find it too easy, play on a harder difficulty. I recommend playing with a half-star continental team on extreme, then tell us how easy the game is.
Right, career mode is very enjoyable when you start with a small continental team (or custom one). You should give a try, Cosmin.
And if it is still too easy, you can edit local.cdb to increase game difficulty (AI stat bonus) and fit your need.

2. I have nerve to post this...negative review here because this is a place for cicling fan, a forum for cicling fan and a game for cicling fan. Thats why i post here.
3. To be honest i don't try to play a career on hard/extreme mode. And not with a pro continental team. This is an option and i think i will try it and then i will say my opinion about it here despite the other guy desire.
Lachi, a friend ho play pcm since this game call Cicling manager 3, teach me how to manage wins in hard/extreme mode. Obviously in this mode you cant win with rider like Brechel, Porte..but you can obtain an veryy good amount of win with Contador, Nibali, Chavanell. I learn from my friend everyfyng and then i manage to play at hard/extreme mode but not on career mode ( only stage, clasic and stage tour ). And i obtain many wins based on what i learn from that guy. This why i sayd that this game is easy and a waste of time.
Probably i will try to play on hard/extreme mode in career with a procont team...and then i will see.
