Seems like it. But:

Nicotine has a stimulating effect, increasing the pulse rate and blood pressure, but also the release of sugar in blood and the release of adrenaline. Nicotine also induces relaxing effects, reducing stress, increasing alertness and improving cognitive function. Thus, the consumption of nicotine as in smokeless tobacco products can benefit the practice of sport, without the health problems generally associated with smoke.

starting in Monaco is an option for me, as stage 1 could be Monaco-San Remo... starting in Denmark has a rest day on day 4 or 5 - which is a bit of a waste imo

You are just mad because they don't come to Australia Banana

Yeah! Let's start Giro in Russia! Smile

I'd certainly hope Pat Mcquaid would be at the prologue - if only momentarilyPfft

The city of Herning had actually bid for the Giro start one year later, in 2013, which will be the city's 100th anniversary. “But when we got in contact with the Giro organisers, it soon became clear that the only realistic option was 2012, and then we just glossed it over with the anniversary," Krarup said.

Either they realised Denmark would be hosting in 2012, or the Giro has something special planned for 2013?

Well, Washington's bid still counts, so I guess we're going to the US of A in 2013 Wink

I'm surprised Camelbaks haven't been used more so up to date. Hopefully this won't end up as a nail in the coffin for them.
Haven't some riders used them before? I seem to recall seeing Garmin riders having the straw of a Camelbak, but can't remember if they used the actual water bladder, or if it was attached to the bottles.

If the UCI were aware of it before the event though, then it shouldn't be a problem in my opinion.

Edit: Though i suppose Frnk Schleck should be more careful. Frank Schleck would never have done something like that... Oh, Cyclingnews and your typos...
