i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/tourdehautvar.jpg

The tour de haut var is riden since 1969. It's is a 2-days race in the provence in France. Joop zoetemelk wonit the most times(3x).

Our team:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0002_resized-4.jpg

As the first stage is flat we hope to get a good result with Turgot. The 2nd stage is a hilly one and is the first test for Charteau. He will be our main guy for the GC.

Stage 1:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-1.jpg
Like i said earlier it is a flat one but the finish is a bit uphill.

Favourites:
-Traksel(Landbouwkrediet)
-Callegarin(Team Type 1)
-Mondory(AG2R La Mondiale)
-Dumoulin(Cofidis, le crédit en ligne)

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0004_resized-3.jpg
Today's breakaway wasn't dangerous at all. Cofidis togheter with Saur-Sojasun did all the work and the gap wasn't bigger than 2'30.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0005_resized-3.jpg
28KM to go the break is caught. They didn't have a chance today.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0006_resized-2.jpg
It was going realy fast and the pack spillted in 3 pieces. Peraud(AG2R La Mondiale) wasn't in the first group. He is a contender for the gc so we have some luck.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0007_resized-3.jpg
Sprint is one. Turgot is positioned great. He has to watch out that he doesn't go to early because of the uphill finish. 2km to go Turgot falls back.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0008_resized-3.jpg
Joly wins with a nice uphill sprint. Tugot became 15th. He didn't have the power today.

Stage results:

We hope to do better in the next stage.

maxpouls
Stage 2:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-2.jpg
Turgot probably won't survive this day in the first group.
Today there are chances for the breakaway.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0003_resized-5.jpg
There is a breakaway with 12 riders. Most known ones are: Peraud(AG2R La Mondiale) Roux(FDJ) and Saramotins(Cofidis, le crédit en ligne). All of the guys in the breakaway are 1'41 behind or even more so the could have a chance.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0004_resized-4.jpg
Saur-Sojasun is doing the work. Everybody is chasing except Joly. 115km to go the breakaway is 6'15 ahead.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0006_resized-3.jpg
Ignatiev(Itera - Katusha) Attacks with 20KM to go. He is still 2'20 ahead. Charteau is the only Europcar rider in the peleton.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0008_resized-4.jpg
Gues what? 10km to go Charteau falls. Togheter with Clarke(Endura Racing) Honing and Barbe(both Landbouwkrediet). He is now in a small group. He is 1 minute behind. Igniatiev is still 1 minute ahead.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0009_resized-5.jpg
1km to go he is still ahead. Joly(Saur-Sojasun), Soler and Lopez(Movistar) are coming in fast.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0010_resized-3.jpg
Igniatiev wins. Joly came just too late. Charteau finisched 54th 1'27 behind.

But there was also good news. We are invited for Paris-Nice. Our goal will be a top 10 in the GC and maybe a top5 in a stage. Also Gautier renewed his contract.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos1.jpg
He can still grow and maybe will be our captian for the smaller races.

GP Dell'Insubria-Lugano
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/1.jpg
It's is a one day race riden since 2009. There will be attacks on the last two hills but with the downhill at the end attacking mightn't be the best opion.

Europcar team:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-3.jpg
Voeckler will be our main man here. Kern and Rolland will help him.

Favourites:
-Di Luca(Katusha Team)
-Cunego(Lampre - ISD)
-De Waele(Landbouwkrediet)
-Evans(BMC Racing Team)
-Sagan(Liquigas - Cannondale)

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0003_resized-6.jpg
Charteau tried today but the usual breakaway wasn't dangerous at all. The pack didn't let the break get over 3'30. Liquigas did the most work. Basso even chased the breakaway. This must mean that Sagan is in great shape. Santambroggio attacked with 50km to go. He joined the group with 30km to go. The pack was 1 minute behind.
Santambroggio and Charteau were reeled in with 10km to go. The first attack of a favourite was from Sagan. He didn't succeed to get away.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0011_resized-3.jpg
On the last downhill Di Luca attacked. He created a small gap of 30 seconds.
3KM to go Di Luca is 20 seconds ahead. He will win this one.
Voeckler was launched by Gautier.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0012_resized-2.jpg
He was positioned great. A great acceleration he beated all of the peleton and even came close to Di Luca.

Previeuw Paris-Nice:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/untitled.jpg

This race has been riden since 1933. Sean kelly won it the most times(7X). Andrei Kivilev is the only one who did because he was riding Paris-Nice. He had no helmet while he felt. He died 5 days later in the hospital. From then on the UCI said that you had to wear a helmet.
Paris-Nice of 2011 doesn't have a mountain stage and the hilly stages aren't hard enough to make the diffrence. So the timetrail will probably decide who will win.
For the GC there are a lot of contenders like: Anton, Evans, Rodriquez and Lepiheimer. Guys like Pinotti,Monfort and Voigt have a chance because of the timetrail so it isn't quite sure who will win.
For the massprints we got 2 big contenders. Hushovd and Cavendish. Also Dumoulin, Weylandt, Steegmans and maybe Turgot got a chance.

Last years GC:
1 Alberto Contador
2 Luis Leon Sanchez
3 Roman Kreuziger
4 Samuel Sanchez
5 Jens Voigt
6 Joaquim Rodriguez
7 Rein Taaramae
8 Jean-Christhope Peraud
9 Jerome Coppel

@Valverde thanks.

Paris-Nice

Our Team:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos1-2.jpg

Turgot will go for atleast 1 top 5. While Voeckler will aim for the GC. We try to be in the breakaway everyday and maybe win KoM.

Stage 1:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-5.jpg
A flat one with only 1 little hill. This won't be a hard stage.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0003_resized-7.jpg
The start was in the sun. For the beginning there were attacks. At the end there was a group of 7 guys.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0005_resized-6.jpg
These are there names:Veilliuex, Carlström, Mirenda, Nepomnyachshiy, Spezialetti,Le Lay, Boucher, Bodnar and Quinziato. A quite strong breakaway. The quickly got over 5 minutes. Veilleux won the KoM so he will be wearing that jersey.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0008_resized-6.jpg
Columbia, Quickstep and Garmin-cervelo were chasing. 50km 4minutes left.
8km to go the breakaway was caught.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0010_resized-5.jpg
7km to go a big split in the pack about 80 riders weren't in the first group.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0011_resized-4.jpg
3km to go. The sprint is on. Turgot is posionted great. While Hushovd is a bit far too the back. Cavendish is following Roulston. Poalini went on early he got some space.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0012_resized-4.jpg
0.8Km to go Poalin still ahead. Geslin and Turgot come closer very fast. Cavendish still far behind and were is Hushovd? Turgot goes on with 0.6KM to go. Can he win this one?
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0013_resized-3.jpg
Yes he can quite a easy win for us.Cavendish became 9th.

There were 3 guys in the breakaway. Poulhies(Saur-Sojasun), Bonnaire(FDJ) and Malacarne(Bretagne). They quickly got over 2 minutes.
The gap never got biger than 3 minutes because of the efforts from Ag2R, Cofidis, Skil and Team Europcar.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0006_resized-6.jpg
The break was caught with just 15 KM to go. There will be a mass sprint.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0007_resized-7.jpg
3Km to go the sprint is on. Gene is leading out for Chavanel. On the left hand side there is a strong train from Ag2r with Mondory and Hinault. Also Duque is placed very well

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0008_resized-7.jpg
Duque wins because of a great acceleration. Chavanel became 8th. He didn't have the speed.

Paris-Nice stage 2:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-7.jpg
Again a flat stage. This one should fit Cavendish perfectly.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0010_resized-6.jpg
The breakaway contains 10 riders. This are there names: Righi(Lampre), Stannard(SKY), Anza(Vacansoleil), Flens(Rabobank), Mortensen(Leopard), Vandenbergh(Katusha), Riblon(AG2R), Ricci Bitti(Farnese Vini), Agnoli(Liquigas), Willems(Omega). Only Flens and Mortensen are at 6 seconds from Turgot. All the others are 2'20 behind Turgot. The gap between the pack and the break became big. 110km to go 8'50.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0011_resized-5.jpg
From then on the pack started to gain time on the breakaway. HTC and Garmin were doing the most. 80Km to go 6minutes advantage.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0013_resized-4.jpg
From then on the gap started to get smaller and smaller and with 9km to go the breakaway was caught.

In the beginning of the sprint Cavendish and Hushovd were agian too far behind. Turgot was placed ok.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0015_resized-3.jpg

1km to go. Dumoulin ahead of Paolin and Geslin. Cavendish is coming in with great speed. Can he do it?

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0016_resized-3.jpg
Yes he can. Magnificent sprinting from Cavendish. Turgot agian great. He became 3rd.

Paris-Nice stage 3:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-8.jpg
The hill at the end will kill some sprinters. Turgot probably won't survive the hill or he doesn't have the power to sprint. This could be a win for Dumoulin or Geslin for example.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0002_resized-7.jpg
The start was in the rain. If the rain continues to fall, then there might be some trouble on the downhill sections.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0003_resized-9.jpg
8 guys in the breakaway: Henderson(SKY), Spezialetti(Lampre), Le Lay(AG2R), Agnoli(Liquigas), Pardilla(Movistar), Mirenda(Farnese Vini), Anza(Vacansoleil), Quinziato(BMC). They got 6minutes advantage with 70Km to go.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0004_resized-8.jpg
From then on Garmin started to pull the pack. The advantage doesn't goes down fast enough so HTC and Team Europcar start to pull too.
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0004_resized-8.jpg
Meanwhile Evans(BMC) and Karpets(Katusha) fall. They got back in the peleton.
When the final climb began the advantage is still 2 minutes. HTC is doing a great effort to caught the escapees. Turgot is struggling on the hill. When we are at the top of the climb the advantage is only 1'10.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0007_resized-8.jpg
On the downhill there is a split. ~30 riders including Bouyer can't follow.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0009_resized-9.jpg
At the end of the downhill section there is a mass crash. Rogers, Moncoutie and Braijkovic are the most important ones. 15KM to goo the breakaway is caught.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0010_resized-7.jpg
2,5KM to go. We tried to sprint with Voeckler because Turgot didn't have the power. He is positioned very well. Again Cavendish is nowhere to been seen.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0011_resized-6.jpg
1KM to go and there is Cavendish. Meanwhile is Voeckler struggling to follow Paolini.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0012_resized-6.jpg
Then out of nowhere Paolini went down. He took Cavendish with him.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0013_resized-5.jpg
Perez wins ahead of Dumoulin and Voeckler. Cavenish might have won if he didn't crash but because of the crash Voeckler could get a nice 3rd place.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0014_resized-5.jpg
While Voeckler was finishing some guys fell over Paolini and Cavendish. Turgot crashed too. We hope he isn't injured.

Wow, mass crash indeed - haven't seen such major crashes happening much. Great result with Voeckler, and nice GC/U25 positions too!

I don't see that many crashes that often in a single race. Indeed we are doing better than we had expected.

Paris-Nice stage 4:
i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/Naamloos-9.jpg

The first hilly stage. There will be a large group stay togheter because the last hill is too far away from the finish.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0003_resized-10.jpg
Luckily today the weather was better than yesterday but it wasn´t great.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0004_resized-9.jpg
The break of the day got a Europcar rider in it. It was Charteau. The rest of the riders were. Loosli(Lampre), Bruseghin(Movistar), Capecchi(Liquigas), Meersman(FDJ), Gustov(Saxo Bank) and Cummings(SKY). They got a quite big lead.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0005_resized-9.jpg
The main reason for this was that only 2 riders were leading the chase. They were both from Cofidis. It were Moncoutie and El Fares.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0006_resized-8.jpg
Then with 70km to go there was an attack from: Rodríguez(Katusha), Oroz(Euskatel), Leukemans(Vacansoleil). Later Tjallingii(Rabobank) reached this group. 50km to go they reached the first group. There lead was over 4 minutes.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0007_resized-9.jpg
10Km to go advantage was 1'13. Then Loosli and Rodriguez attacked. Charteau tried to follow but wasn't strong enough. The group never came close too the 2 so Loosli and Rodriguez will decide who wins the 4th stage.

i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb361/maxpouls/PCM0008_resized-9.jpg
From head-on Rodriguez wins. He was 57 seconds ahead of Tjallingii. The pack got the same time as Tjallingii. Charteau became 8th. The pack only contained 57 riders so it was quite hard today.
