I think I have one in top 20 in every RR championship. Didn't check, but at least that's my impression.
Edit: Ps: I demand a Bbox victory on Saturday! As a birthday gift!
Edit 2: If there are any races left by then....
Possibly the Australian - Rory Sutherlund may just sneak in a break and win.

Wow, a rather good morning for me. Go go Medvedev, completely unexpected, but awesome!
And nice to see Martin, Roche and O'Loughlin all shine in their last races for my team.

Wow, Dekker finally managed to win the Dutch Championship. First ever, I believe. And his first (and last...) win this season.
Also well done by Devolder and Serebriakov. They were up there in the final - it's difficult to ask for more. |

Too bad we missed the Dutch RR jersey. But what a race in the time - trial!
As expected, Cornu had no problems taking the Belgian jersey for another year.

I find it curious that some many 2010 champions are retaining their titles. Hope that doens´t happen in the Italian race

that's pretty much impossible because Cunego isn't riding

Some fairly lame results so far... And not in my favour either. Good thing I hadn't expected anything. I still have a dream of Navardauskas and Wen Hao Li winning, but besides that I think I have no chance.

Haha, classic! How typical of the Italians to mark each other out of it and let an outside shot win.
So the Italian Champion is a soon to be free agent. Interesting

Struggling to comment on the Italian RR.
Valverde / Ginanni both on the wrong end of silly results and letting riders that shouldn't be let go up the road go. In Vespa's case the obvious thing to do would be sit Proni on his wheel instead of burning themselves out on a fruitless chase.
Still, Caruso now goes high up on the list of close season targets. I hope he knows he got a vote from me to be in the World's squad in the tie breakers. |

And me. And he was already on my list. At the top. Along with Alarcon who has also been talked about today as a must-have rider. Guess there's nothing left but to go for Cunego. |

Alcaron wants to re-locate to Colombia.
Larsson annoyed me (so much I was rooting for Wiggle in the championship race) by refusing to consider a swap involving him and Lovkvist at the end of last season. Imagine Lovkvist riding for a Swedish team. |

Just a 'slight' difference in quality though!

Obviously it wasn't a straight swap and he'd have done well in the CT.
Not as well as Alcaron maybe, but I think he'd have come close. Alcaron is number 1 target for Colombia, even though I have my doubts about his usefulness in a lot of PT races. Too many all rounders to contend with who'll kill him against the clock. |

Lovkvist may have done well in CT - but not in a team already containing Taaramae and Larsson!
Alarcon is indeed an intriguing PT prospect. We've seen he can win in CT, and so its time to test his PT mettle.

I don't know how people feel about the Spanish and Italian championship results. I wonder why AI acts like it does?
Is it down to small teams of one or two riders? In which case could we think about merging riders into joint teams next year?
Do the U23's actually compound the problem - see Switzerland - UBS's bunch of rookies had no chance to chase down the break there? I noticed in Ireland where no team had a large amount we got a better result. So possible limit teams to 3 or 4 riders (big teams can enter three teams perhaps?)
Is Simulating the right way to go? This seems to me to be a last resort, but I suppose would guarantee 'sensible' results!
Anyway, it does make it a bit of an interesting tussle for those vacant Italian riders!

After all the races are done its definitely worth a look. Small teams could be the way to go. |

Simulating is never the way to go imo. I think last year some people didnt like the way the results were, but no propers suggestions really emerged

What's the problem?
IRL it's not necessarily the strongest riders who win. No one would say that Gutierrez is the best Spanish rider, Terpstra is the best Dutch rider, Visconti is the best Italian rider etc.
I'm generally satisfied with the national champions so far. |
