wont you just end up with the massive bugs of '10. how about a return to 06?

SportingNonsense
Smowz has been testing out man-game suitability of PCM10, and the feedback sounds good. The 1.0.4.1. version really doesnt seem so bad - bear in mind that AI vs AI gameplay is different to Human vs AI gameplay. Plus if PCM11 comes out and turns out to be good, then a mid-season switch would be a possibility.

Back to PCM06? Hell no. Its about the 5th most suitable version for the Management Game.

i just assumed that seen as 06's gameplay is best in general it might work for mangame but obviously not.

SportingNonsense
The gameplay argument is objective, but in pretty much every single other aspect, the game has definately moved on for the better - particularly on the editing side of things.

The Man-Game has moved on from PCM06. Its not possible to return, and I dont want to - If i wanted that, we would never have left PCM06.

I don't think the gameplay is better than 09 or 10, and while switching to 10 means all the stages have to be remade, the format should be the same for a while, so it might as well be done now.

fair enough, i was just asking, mostly about the feasibility of '10

wacko or anyone else - can you give me the specific examples of the 'massive bugs' of pcm 2010?

From my experiences of playtesting Man Game scenerios in pcm 2010 so far I have seen

- better results and more believable action in the cobbled races
- better more believable action in the Ardennes
- far better sprints (contrary to my previous statements - which indicate that it is difficult for a player to execute good sprints).
- Less frenetic attack after attacks in mountain stages.

and don't get me started about the shere library of stage races already available for pcm 2010.

Hey I am the Spanish prime minister here - pcm 2010 is in the clear damn it!

my knowledge is purely hearsay - hence why i asked rather than imposing. but there have been some massive complaints about the bugs.

Id be annoyed, but I expected a fail such as this

And yet Luke Rowe's running with sprints that he participates in have generally been ok. Sure there are the occasional bad positioned ones and non-sprint ones, but he's pretty much been fine. Maybe the game just doesn't like your Brits.

Kami
The main issue i have with PCM '10 is the attacking in mountain or hilly stages. The peleton keeps making a higher pace then the attackers, by riders who shouldn't be able to and on moments where they already should have been long gone.

@Smowz: The actions might be better, but in most of the times i raced the Ardennes, the favorites attack and all get caught back and then the one with the best position is most likely to win in the sprint.

All by all, i don't really care that much though, but from my experience, PCM '10 still is buggier (even in sprinting) then PCM '09.

My main issue is this - the favourites generally don't get a gap when they attack in the closing stages and are brought back. Too many hilly stages end with the lead group being 75 riders +.

Also, as Kami says a lot of attacks just don't go anywhere on the flat - though this may be something that mainly affects the player.

Mountain stages as well I'm not a huge fan of - they're pretty generic. Reasonably strong riders attack, weaker riders chase them down, stronger riders attack, weaker riders chase them down and then finally the favourites get away with a few kilometers left - which is sometimes realistic. Seems to happen every mountain stage I've played though which I don't like.

Okay I will share some results of my pcm10 test with you:

Amstal Gold:
Fantastic tactical race - we had about 75 ish riders with about 30km to go, it then had some good attacks, to end with a two up sprint up the Cauberg.

I really see no problem with those sorts of results and from what I saw the racing was far better - it was similar with cobbled stages.

I used a more 'continental line up with SN's Tour of Japan, here are some of the early stage results:

Is there also a Paris-Roubaix result?

And the 2nd question would be how would you handle the prologue stat? Especially the created ones like Dietmar More-Less Pfft

The only fair way to do the prologue stat is make a formula based on the other stats.

I suggested, and suggest a formula based on TT, Acc and Spriting. With TT being the most important one, followed by Acc and then sprint (someting like 0,6xTT+0,25xAcc+0,15xSpriting (or whatever)
