Unbelievably awesome. Can't say how happy i am with this. Doesn't always have to come from my 'big three'.

I know the game is hating my British sprinters this year, but seriously? Cavendish sprinting backwards so much he wasnt even in the peloton for the results. And Froome lost time also.
Any idea on why Mb?
I didn't realise until I saw the results, he was up front with 10km to go, then drifted backwards because Lloyd was fading. I presume he must have punctured or something as he is stronger than plenty of people who stayed in the peleton.

I suppose its too much to ask for the game to have Thomas lead out Cavendish, rather than Dan Lloyd, Thomas being ideal for the role - and better on paper than both of those 2 Bacardi guys. Even Dan Lloyd looks better on paper than the Bacardi lead out Pacheco, gah.

Very freaky stage even by PCM09 standards!
Could be quite a groundbreaking result this one for you Kami. The potential for a one - two on GC (never mind what it already has done!) could really give an outside of the big three result that put the cat amongst the pidgeons! The danger perhaps is that Bacardi now have to control the maybe tricky stage three.
The key perhaps to understanding what happened is the hill stats maybe? Pacheco is what 68 flat and 69 hill? and Kocjan compliments this with a decent pair of 69 flat and 67 hill.
There is another explanation of course, the presence of Cillit Bang in the top 12 or so of the stage rankings perhaps implies some sort of relience on those riders.
SN: The only explanation I can offer is that Cavendish and Froome were used to chase the breakaway - which would be unbelievable - mind you the team orders at Wiggle seem bizarre for this stage as well.

From what Ive seen so far this season, the norm appears to be Lloyd (or alternative) chases the breakaway, then is designated leadout rider. Even when there are better options for leadouts, that havent been chasing the break.

Well, tbh. Guarnieri did most of the lead-out, however Pacheco did make the gap a lot bigger if you compare the screenshot with 3k to go to the one at the finish. Personally, i don't understand. Might be that Munoz Giraldo was in the break and we didn't have to waste any energy what so ever.
@Smowz: Yea, very happy with it, didn't expect a lot from this race. I rly hope my team can control the pack, although most of my riders have a flat 70+ stat.

I must say, I cocked up completely. I never try to aim to put two differing team leaders in the same race (unless it's a wild card race) but here, I did. Therefore I will gain zero points from this race. It's the way of PCM shit-o-logic.
And also, what an effing shit race. Pan flat, with a tiny prologue, which Ignatiev never stood a chance of winning due to being so early (again, like fenian, I believe fully that I've never seen a rider who went early win a PCM TT. Ever.)
So, two things for the future: never put two leaders together (uhoh for ToB), and never enter a race based on a cruddy race profile from mapmyride.

Hurray, Cav stage win - although he did his best not to
And more mystifying time gaps, which is unfortunate. Bacardi, Pendletons and Milka look set to be getting big points from the GC placings

what an odd stage. Bacardi, Pendletons, and Milka all look set for good point hauls, but unpredicability seems rampant in this race

A highly unpredictable race, but the real headline is the GC at the moment, Bacardi are looking to make a major move here - Milka will be pleased as well.

A major upset for me that Bacardi managed to take out the top two places. They took their chance and that is all you can ask.
Huge points accumulation no doubt from this one, no a bad one either for Pendletons and pretty awesome for the dangerous sleeping team Milka.
Bizarre and unpredictable fail for Wiggle and Ignatiev.
Seems strange that 100% Me have won two out of four stages yet had what will be regarded as a poor tour!

Very very very good race for me. Most surprising aswell. Had no expectations except a top 10 GC from Bagdonas and maybe hoping for a podium by Kocjan.
In total i got 389 points from this race, if my calculations are correct, which might be my highest scoring race this season. (Castilla might be higher, don't know).
About the crash which Kocjan avoided, that was another rider from me; Kuchinski, 12th in the GC which does cost me 18 points . But i'm just happy that Kocjan didn't crash out and that both Kocjan and Pacheco made podium again.
Review in general: The 'bigger' riders didn't deliver or had bad luck. I think for once Wiggle might have scored the least points out of all. Milka and Pendleton can indeed be happy aswell, especially Milka as they also got a stage.

Ah, the irony. Finally the leadout I want, and yet Cavendish cant be bothered. 5-7th, or 5-8th looking at the picture - worst possible places really, when theres only points from the Top 4.
And Smowz, to call this a bad tour for me would mean to be too obsessed with ranking points. Stannard won the TT over Ignatiev and the Pendletons duo, which was a success, and Cavendish actually won a stage. On paper he should have been 3/3, but given the way the season has gone for my sprinters, Ill have to take 1/3 as a decent result.
And 13th overall for Joseph Perrett is a great result for him.

Yeah, I guess 100% Me are prestige hunters and to take two stages is really quite nice for them. Of course it is not just about hunting points for the teams standings anyway - I am always pleased to see one of the Red Bull lot in a picture or in a good strategy.
Lots of strange goings on in the Channel Islands - I hope it is back next year but with a stronger and bigger field to do it justice.

376, and its your highest, 90 more than Luxembourg which comes next.

Well its certainly mixed emotions for many teams as we leave behind the Channel Islands and return to mainland Europe (and a touch of Scandinavian) in the division's upcoming races.
Wiggle won't be rushing back in a hurry, nor will Ignatiev, as this was very much a race for the less common scorers to prosper. The closest change to the top is Cavendish, who is up a few spots into the Top 30. Race winner Kocjan does leap up into the Top 100 though - a gain of over 200 places.
We also had 8 riders score their first points of the season - its been a long while since there were that many!

Teams
A season defining race, for Bacardi maybe? If ever there was a team to benefit immensely from their weaker riders delivering big, it is Bacardi. Team Ricco/Kirchen only - not anymore! Theyre up from 14th to 8th, just displacing Pokerstars as the best new team, if Ricco and Kirchen can keep up the momentum, who knows, promotion?
Up above them, Pendletons continue their ability to score well and up to 6th - nearly 5th, but 100% Me scored here aswell. The only thing to note for Wiggle here is that theyve passed the 3000 point mark.
Besides Bacardi, Milka also scored very well, and they too are up - a 4 place gain to 13th. Cillit Bang suffered a missed opportunity and remain down in 18th, while Falcon are up 1, to 26th.

What a complete and utter waste of time, space, energy and race days for my least race day allocated riders. But, looking on the "positive" side, at least I didn't have other races I could have done instead with those riders. Plus, I'm still 2nd in the rankings, even though I need to be 1st. Still, Ponzi's yet to hit his run of races yet. |

And we climb another place up and it´s not much points up to the next 2 teams. But in other hands in´s not much down to Highroad either but we always look up!
And in this race Larsson, Clarke and Jamieson did score their first points this season, keep them coming! |
