I just installed 1.0.4.2 on my PCM Daily Folder.
Then copied the PCM Daily local (1143kb) over the official one (1097kb), started the game.
After loading my career I quit to main menu, out of the game and had a look into the folders.
The local was still 1143kb (Pcm Daily size)
Have you done anything different from my way?
EDIT: I installed 1.0.4.2 from 1.0.0.0 on my 1.0.4.1 version.

I installed 1.0.3.0 to 1.0.4.2
It resets the local as soon as I open up PCM.
I'll try with the 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.4.2 version instead.
EDIT: Oh well, still happens.

Right click the Local.cdb and make it read-only. |

The same happened to me but i could fix it. After installing the patch 1.0.4.2 i reinstall the folder 'My Documents' of the 'PCMdailyExpansionPackV2' and the 'PCMdailyExpansionPack-V2-to-V2.1' and it is fixed and i can continue my career with the new patch. |

Great to see for once I'm not the only one to have my problem

That's a great news but I thought that the main and first to be fixed bug was the attack thing. Is there any chance that will be fixed in the near future? |

Think they won`t work on it in future.
They said that they are already working on PCM 11 and the stage pack (undefined date)
So this one is probably the last.
But if you don`t attack on climbs but go up to 87% with the "dot" it works very well.
It`s quite close to an attack, but more effective and better for your bars. |

That's crap cuz it really kills the game for me. Obviously as you said you can go on "dot" but that's not the same.
First of all if you set your rider on dot it will move him to the front of the peloton / group and then he will just pull it for good few kms before (and if) he finally escape. So basically what you need to do is move him the front of peloton, attack until he escapes the peloton and then go on a dot.
Secondly it just doesn't look as realistic as the attacks.
Could actually anyone tell me what excatly has been fixed about the sprints cuz I've only checked the intermediate sprints and they still not fighting for it (that was the most noticable bug to me).
I really hope they will do better in PCM11 cuz after PCM10 I will think twice and follow the forum for few months before I decide to spend any money on it. Personaly to me this year's PCM is just a joke and lack of respect for the gamers. |

Well I noticed you could get away in the mountains before any of the patches (1.0.0.0) but then the sprints are all messed up with that. Now with 1.0.4.1 the sprints are great but the mountains (my personal favourite part) are a real drag, with the one or two biggest climbers getting away each time and then a big group of 15 follow behind. It also seems like if you miss the very first attack in the mountains you can attack, but you will never get that time back. I was riding on the dot at 80% with Menchov who was behind Basso and was checking the speeds, of both riders. Menchov was riding faster than Basso yet was losing time to him.
I think I might go back to my Hesjedal story with 08....

Especially on hilly stages the new attack-issue is really frustating. I liked hilly stages a lot a few months ago. But now on short hills it's impossible to make even small gaps. I attacked at 2km to go (with full bars) on a small uphill-finish, and were oversprinted by 15 riders at 1km to go. Seems like it's impossible, to get away from these smaller groups now. Always 15-20 riders in front of hilly stages with no gaps between these 20 riders... On mountain-stages i think like roturn. It's ok there. But it's sad, that now that the sprints are working, they cracked up the hilly/mountain attacks. Man, this could have been a good game, if these attacks wouldn't get such a mess now. |

I do not know what exactly you both are saying, but the protection will be updated in every patch because the old protection would not work on the patched game. (Due to obvious reasons, else it would be rather easy to crack the game) |

It's still a beta patch so it has'nt been integrated into the automatic updates yet. After installing it, simply ignore the pop up message asking you to update when you launch the game |

The sprint fix is the stopping riders.
So probably the most unimportant of all possibilities |

Well I share the sentiment that version 1.0 was better in the hilly stages. In fact overall I thought it was pretty good (for breakaways etc.) Unfortunately Cyanide have broken as many things as they fix with each new patch. It seems like they look for the easiest way out all the time, instead of a serious rewrite of the AI. In fact there is precious little AI. Just formula logic which results in the same predicable results. It is ridiculous that a rider can close a gap on another when his road speed is less. It is stupid that all breakaways are caught until precisely 25Km at which point anyone can. No one EVER breaks in the last 60K. These problems have been plaguing PCM for years. When will Cyanide learn that nice graphics aren't nearly as important as gameplay. (Look at Nintendo). As a programmer I don't think its is actually that hard to code the right fuzzy logic for a cycling game. You just have to make it always subject to a certain degree of randomness. Just like real life.
I'm bitterly disappointed and angry, mostly because Cyanide are so darn close. It really wouldn't take much to put it right.... but I've been saying that for years now, so I think I'll stop hoping. |

Well, 1.0.4.2 is like 1.0.4.1 with fixing the animation where sprinters stopped before the line.
So of course the newer version is better in my opinion.
No negative things and 1 positive thing.
Also there is no problem to install 1.0.4.2 and continue your old career. You will have all fixes in this career, too. |

Well I had riders going for the intermediate sprints last night with the new patch, so I agree with Roturn that the new patch is a must. |
