Anything by David Lynch, Mulholland Drive is probably my overall favourite.
Anything by Quentin Tarantino.
Most stuff by Clint Eastwood.
Most stuff by Martin Scorsese.
Most stuff by Roman Polanski.
Most stuff by Sergio Leone.
Most stuff by Jean-Pierre Melville (late 60's French film director)
Most stuff by Johnnie To
Most stuff by Park Chan-wook
The Godfather (n°3 wasn't that good)
Star Wars
Alien
etc.
I've definitely seen way too many movies to make a list of good ones that's not arm long.
I particularly enjoy stuff with big twists in them, like, well, Mulholland Drive, but also The Machinist, Stay, or things like that. Things that need to be watched at least twice and you'll still notice you had missed a lot of important things when watching it a third time.
Wow,you have very similar taste to mine, only that Asia directors i dont know.
Lynch is an absolute king of movies, i have just finished watching Twin peaks series for maybe fifth time in my life. His movies and series are the real masterpieces, recent shite commercial movies are trash in comparsion, this is what i call A Art
Only one who i miss there is Stanley Kubrick, another genius and my favourite director with movies like:
The Shining
2001: A Space Odyssey
Clockwork Orange
Full metal jacket
Yeah, I know Kubrick misses there. But I haven't watched all his (main) movies yet, so I didn't include him.
As for Lynch, I've seen all of his movies (at least once, when not several times), but didn't get the opportunity to watch Twin Peaks (the serie, I've seen the movie), nor Rabbits. I hope I'll manage to fix that in the future.
I could also have included Darren Aronofsky (I still have to watch The Fountain) and Sam Mendes (although his later stuff, though good, is less convincing).
It's definitely worth checking out Korean movies, and most Johnnie To's stuff.

Watch Breaking Bad if you aren't already!
Just wanted to let that out.
11th in the IMDB list of top shows ever, and fully deserves the spot. It's excellent.

NCIS and Law and Order are the best ever.
Haha, funny one...wait..you mean it seriously?
I hope for his sake he's not serious.
Anyway, The Wire or Arrested Development. They're the usual critics' picks for best shows ever, and I can't choose between them. They're both mind blowingly awesome.

Am I the only one thinking the animated series (Simpson, Family Guy, etc.) are slowly running out of ideas...?
Been thinking that for years, especially Family Guy, and then the spin-off with The Cleveland Show just ruined it. The Simpsons is still usually good though.

Actually the first episode of the new season of Family Guy was quite good.

True that, but in my opinion, I think the ones from season 4/5/6, or something like that (here in Portugal they screw completely with the seasons), were the best of Family Guy. It's still funny, but not as a few years ago. As for the Simpsons, it's quite the same, the earlier seasons made me laugh more than today.
My football team mates have been talking about Blue Mountain State for quite a while, so today, I finally got around to watch the first two episodes to see what it's all about.
Can't say I'm impressed. I usually don't mind the humour being "stupid", but this is just hopeless.
Actually I see BMS as a TV-Show who mocks that king of stupid rumor and it is one of the shows that I follow regularly.
If you want to see a show about football, try Friday Night Lights and you won't regret it. It's probably my favorite TV-show ever (I think I already mentioned this here )
