Volta ao Algarve Stage 3

This stage is categorized as a High Mountain stage but I feel its more of a medium mountain stage myself. This could finally be the day we get into a succesful break, as the profile whispers, breakaway.

Sorry but my game crashed before the Replay.

As the riders started jumping out of the peloton in the opening km's Euskatel rode at the front of the peloton and brought every move off the front back, until we got to the 2nd Intermediate Sprint, where a group of 9 were let free. Much later on, Euskatel had asked the other spanish teams to help them bring the break back and save Sanchez's lead, but only 2 riders from Orbea were sent. On the final climb of the day, Mandri was the lone survivor of the break and had the Overall GC favourites closing in on him fast.

Mandri got to the line first though and had no celebration in mind.

Just a heads up, but I will be reporting the Tour du Haut Var after I'm finished the Volta ao Algarve so that there is less confusion as the races conflict, in the racing calendar.

Umm I accidentally deleted the squad pic from my imageshack account when I tried uploading the flags I use, (thanks to Jolly) so I got rid of it out of my post. I can do another one though. I changed a few things around and signed a few different riders since then too.

Volta ao Algarve Stage 4

Obviously a hilly stage, we expect Daniel Teklehaimanot to do the best. If it finishes in a mass sprint we think he could be up with the big guns, but you never know.

20km left and the break missing a certain Red Bull esque but certain to be caught as it has 1:30 left to the big group. Daniel is barely hanging on to the back of the peloton, but many other riders of his skill are falling off too.

Daniel would eventually get dropped, and the break got caught, so the sprinters teams got prepared. Katusha and Ag2r had the most numbers, so therefore looked to be the strongest teams, hunting for a stage win.

Nocentini starts the sprint, but gets overtaken by a few riders.

Pozzato takes the stage, and moves into a tie for the points lead with Geslin.

The good old TT to finish off the tour. It should be a sigh of relief for most of our team as we struggled badly during all the stages. Atleast we have a discipline today that we are alright in.

Freidman our first rider out and he rides a very solid time, taking the current lead, but would soon be knocked off. Still great performance by him.

Langeveld. he said before the stage he would look for the win but after a horrible time at the first time check he knew there was no chance at the win. he finished 33rd by the time all the riders had come in.

Clearly the coolest rider ever, Daniel rode above his weight in the TT. It was nice to see him ride well, and in the end he finished 1 second ahead of Friedman who before that had Red Bulls best time.

Its a nice 2 day race with many strong puncheurs. Van Garderen is our leader but Le Gac could surprise us. Buffaz is our honourary breakaway man, and is expected to be in the break.

Like expected Buffaz gets into the break and tries to collect some KOM points. To our dismay the break was eventually caught and with no sprinters in our team we went for it all and had Le Gac follow LL Sanchez of Caisse.

The second and final stage of the race. Not much else we can do other than send Buffaz in the break and hope he gets some KOM points.

Buffaz failed to get in the break which lasted up until the final climb where LL Sanchez took hold of the race and attacked from the bottom of the last climb.

Yeah thanks.

They are very hard to get into. And even to stay. The red bar drains from full in about 2 seconds I find after 70km of BOTD riding. We'll probably never win a race as breaks are our only chance. I really liked your stories, are you gonna continue or start a new one?

Yeah, every time I attack out of a breakaway, my rider's red bar empties immediately. Frustrating.

I haven't decided yet what to do with my story. I lost all my replays and am waiting for PCM's new update before I decide. In all likelihood, I will start a new story with a new team.
