I stopped reading when I saw Vino was listed as likable.

Ricco and Vino are the two I dislike. Not really related to doping - they just seem like real jackasses.
The others I don't have anything against and one is my favourite rider.

I must confess I'm a big fan of what Anquetil achieved, TDF, ITT skills, hour record, Dauphiné + Bordeaux-Paris doublé, etc. Even though all that owed a lot to doping, at the time it didn't have an influence as big as in the EPO/blood doping years.
Later I learnt how much of a sickening jerk he was in his every day life... |

It seems more often than not that great athletes are jack asses in their personal life. I think it often takes a confident, arrogant, entitled attitude and being a cold blood killer to really be a great athlete.
There are of course exceptions to the rule thankfully, but in general--great athletes = great jerks in my experience. |

Rather that he married a wife that already had two kids (boy and girl). He couldn't get a child with his wife (was she already too old ?), so he decided his step-daughter would carry the child instead (without breaking his marriage). So, he got a first child like that.
The second one he got from the his step-son ex-wife.
His second child (Christopher, his godfather is Hinault, btw) had my aunt as French teacher in Normandy, he's a total retard, strangely enough... |

I'm I the only one having a hard time with the severe contradiction of a so-called "likeable doping sinner"!?

No contradiction there. Unlike his nice guy older brother, Andy Schleck is an insufferable jackass.
