Team RTE-Renault
Next races: GP dell'insubria-Lugano (1 day hill classic) and Le Tour Langkawi (7 Day Tour of Malaysia)
As February rolls to a close the team is still searching for their first stage win. The season is really just getting rolling but the sponsors are an impatient group. Were going to put everything we have into getting some good results in these two races. Rangere is going to Lugano and then is training for a solid two weeks for the Criterium International. Deignan will lead the boys in Malaysia. Paddy will stay with the boys in Europe. He said he has no desire to return to Southeast Asia. He said he went there once but came back with a unwanted souvenir. The doctor said it was one of the worst cases of well.......let's just say you know Paddy by now so you can figure it out
Gp dell'insubria-Lugano
Riders: Rangere, Bibby, McConvey, McCann, Aiken, Gallagher, O'Brien, Durant
Beautiful scenery here in Lugano. No desire to get into early break
Evans in his WC jersey. His Team BMC seem to be the guys to beat today
While Rangere kept a close eye on Evans, McCann tries to ride off the front of the peloton with about 25 km to go
The two climbs at the very end don't allow the peloton to move as quickly as they'd like. McCann's going to do it. He's going to hang on! Victory for Team RTE-Renault!
McCann takes the stage. He's a wily old fighter isn't he? Rangere finished near the front of the peloton and will finish 6th. The team picked up some valuable points and has rocketed up the charts to 4th overall possibly helping our chances of getting any wild cards we ask for. The guys who raced today will rest for a bit then get back to training. We really want to win the Criterium International. Good luck to Phillip and the boys in Malaysia
