Rojas takes the victory, and petachi and Hushovd will have the same points overall
I wish, but never going to happen. Rojas will get 4th. I wish you could bet for the 4th place spot in the fantasy betting section... |

same points is not enough. Petacchi has 1 extra stage win..

It doesn't matter who attacks, it is in the sprinters' interests minus Petacchi (maybe) to save the maximum points for the top spot. So this is 100% a no-breakaway day. |

This is the champs élysées, if the sprinters teams can help it, it will never be a breakaway day.
To win this stage and not be a sprinter you need to time your attack very very well.

Well why not try? It's possibly the best stage in the tour to win.

I think Lampre are interested in minimizing points, Cervelo doesn't really care, that leaves HTC. The might not be strong enough after 3 weeks.

Oh yes, I know some people will try, but there's no way I think it will work in the end if they are going for the stage victory. Vino went for it in '05 under special circumstances; if he has enough to do that again tomorrow... |

in 05 the special circumstances were he was doped up to his eyeballs.
he has to be a bit more subtle with his doping these days
as usual a small break will go and dangle in front of the peleton around the Champs Elysees. they'll be caught with about 2 laps to go and various riders will try to attack alone. they'll all get about 25 meters up the road before they are brought back and it will come down to a bunch sprint where Cav will win, Petacchi will finish 2nd Hushovd will finish between 7th-12th and Contador will role over the line doing his pistol salute. |

At 45 km/h, 8 minutes. How fast do they usually go there, a bit faster I would think? |

on the Champs élysées, well it depends. I've been there years where they took it very fast (2003 springs to mind), wheras last year wasn't as quick.
But... the peloton always speeds up at about lap 4 of 8. It's a great race to see in person.

you need to be top 3, in on the last corner.
2006: 1.thor, 3third in the last corner
2007: 1. Bennati, 2nd in the last corner, thor 3rd last corner ended nr.2
2008. Steegmans 3rd last corner
2009, cav 2nd. last corner
