Why is the Col de Saises category 1 and the Col de Lamoura only category 2? Because of the 400 metres and 0,1% difference?
It´s a perfect stage for a group with some riders who don´t have any chance in the GC but aiming for the mountain jersey, and hopefully there is lots of action from Schleck and Contador so Andy gets yellow

All the favourites will arrive in one group and Gesink will win the sprint

Andy and Contador won't do much, they both suck at downhills. |

Contador isn't that bad at downhilling

Yes, and look at Nibali downhilling at the Giro this year

it's not that different from the giro stage with the Monte Grappa.
But the racing style will probably be different, so that a larger group will come in.
We'll see tomorrow... |

This stage is harder than Grappa's one. The problem is that this is the Tour. |

Check the intermediate times before and after the downhill at the TT in last year's tour. Then tell me Contador can't downhill

Cadel has DH 77 on PCM and COB 64. I think it's time to make a quick switch . He downhilled poor at the Giro.
If the GC men won't push too hard tomorow, I'll go for Nicolas Roche for the stage victory and for Lele Sanchez on stage10. |

Wasnt the wind also a factor there though?

Yeah, iirc there were major differences between the intermediate on the hill, and the finish. |

That was for the early riders. Compare Contador and the other late starters.

Felline is no surprise, he was hurt pretty badly after he crashed early yesterday. |

Armstrong will attack on the Colombiére. Contador will follow but Armstrong attacks again on the Madeleine and doest a Rossi descend to the finish and wins the stage plus 12 mins to the rest
Now more seriously, this stage has breakaway all over it. It's just a matter of who will be in there to make this stage interesting.

S. Sanchez for the victory here I think. If Vino can hold on to the favourites group then he is also a chance. |

Armstrong will not do anything and one of the GC contenders will have a bad day. The rest days always does strange things to at least one rider. |
