So far they have a different excuse every time they get dropped.
It's the heat.....I didn't drink enough.......I have a saddle sore......My bed wasn't comfortable....
Now you are just quoting the Danish commentators coming with excuses why Fuglsang was dropped yesterday. |

Don't expect them to.
Here's the entire list of tactics from The Hog's career as a team director:
Roll around in the pack. Follow wheels. If you have the strongest climber, push the pace with the helpers, then attack. If not, keep following wheels.
That's it. That's all he's done for his entire career. He manages to be at the same time the most boring and the most unimaginative DS. Don't expect him to "do something on this stage". At all. They'll follow wheels and hope that Armstrong can magically drop Contador.

they should just get someone to ride into the back of contador on the last decent. only real chance they have of dropping him.
or try some oldschool wacky races tactics like digging a hole in the road or painting a fake tunnel on the mountainside. |

Actually, I was quoting Leecheimer, Pharmstrong and Klöden. They actually used all those excuses so far.
You know how it is with them every year. They're dying for BBM

Not mentioning the tactics of a certain stage in 2001 to Alpe D'Huez where the most "boring and unimaginative DS" managed to play one of the biggest bluffs in modern cycling, and made the Telekom look like complete fools.
Also if you have the best rider, there ain't a whole lot of other good tactics than setting a high pace, and attacking with your leader. |

The one where Telekom DS Mario Kummer said mid-stage to TV "We know it's a bluff but we have to take any chances we can get"? That stage?
Don't fall for the hog's propaganda, it doesn't put you in a good light

And when he didn't have the best rider, what did he do? Nothing. Any DS can win with Contador or pre-2006 Armstrong on their team.

Aaah the russian Roberto Heras. Can't perform in his first GT of the season.
So...
Menchov, Nibali, Kreuziger, Frank Schleck, Vande Velde, RodrÃguez, Antón.
I'm liking the Vuelta field.

I suspect Menchov will be back soon enough. There was an early crash, mixed with the usual attacks, and now apparantely the pack is split in 2 - Menchov and Garate having been named as in the 2nd group

Shut up. I'm still dreaming he'll be in top form at the Vuelta

Menchov is like Ullrich. He could in theory win the Tour but he keeps somehow sabotaging himself.

My hope for the stage is that nothing happens.
Reason, I not going to be able to watch the actual mountain part of the stage.
