Thomas left Hushovd's wheel once after they broke away, and that was to follow Hesjdal's sprint with 500m to go, Hushovd worked more than him.
I'd disagree Thomas did more work than Hushovd.
Hushovd didn't do a lot, but he did chase the Cancellara break.
edit: Misread post
Basically I agree thomas did less work than Hushovd.

That kind of talk belongs to the Stage 3 thread, though. |

After all the drama from the last few days i'm actually hoping for a crash free sprint finish. Very dull, but i can't get to sleep each night if all this action keeps up every stage. |

Would be nice to have a clean stage tomorrow yeah.

Current standings:
Thor Hushovd 63
Robbie McEwen 38
Alessandro Petacchi 35
Gerald Ciolek 4
Tyler Farrar 4
Ă“scar Freire 2
Mark Cavendish 1
Cavendish is looking menacing

Doubt it, Farrar is the fastest. He is injured. Cavendish is then number two, but he has a lot of pressure, I smell epic fail, again. Petacchi will then win. Hushovd has one sprint in the last couples of months, and will ride clean, like he did sunday.
Norwegians loves Hesjedal, btw. A Norwegian lastname, and he has genes back to the vikings(more as a joke).

Farrar is faster than Cavendish? Based on what, all those times Farrar has beaten Cavendish?

Personally, I feel he is very overrated. He's only won GT stages when the sprinters weren't there. At the Giro because of crashes and at the Vuelta he even had trouble beating Gilbert in a straight sprint.
He does, however, (like Allan Davis) have an amazing knack for picking the winner's wheel....he just never has the speed to even begin to come around.

The double-sided axe is going to weigh him a bit too much in the mountains.

Exactly. He won two stages at the Giro two months ago and Cavendish didn't win any

I guess. I certainly don't think he can climb with the 'A' climbers but I could see him climbing with 'B' climbers. He's not a bad climber and a few times he could have been able to go on ahead of VandeVelde but stayed with him to protect VandeVelde to the finish.

On a betting site:
Tour de France 2010 - 4 Etappe - Yukiya Arashiro vs Sebastian
Yukiya Arashiro 2.25 Sebastian Turgot 1.57
Should I or not, that's the question;-) However my bet is Petacchi (Quote 8.50) for the stage win. |

petacchi had he's day in glory...i don't think he will win
BUT...he will definitely be up there.
Lampre and HTC will fight for the command the last 2km.
Cervelo will jump upfront the last 600m.
But he will win? i don't know?
it will be a fast sprint.
That favours Cav, petacchi, robbie.
thor somewhere between 5-10.
roses are grey, violets are grey, everything is grey,

I think EBH, Thor, and Thomas will be the top 3.

Hopefully today will be the first stage we see a mass sprint with all sprinters. So no crash or anything else.
It`s still not clear who is the best sprinter this tour even if Hushovd is the best points collector and probably winner of green jersey if nothing bad happens.
I`d like to see Cavendish and Ciolek today. |

He can sprint, but he is not really a sprinter as such. He may well get himself towards the front, like Stage 1, but if Sky have a sprinter, its EBH
Thomas' #1 priority remains working for Wiggins, and I really think he could do decent on the climbs.

Careful about leaning towards Cav, he might lean back and cause a crash
Speaking of which. For the sake of the Green Jersey, isnt it Hushovd's turn to crash today?
