Plus, this being the Tour. Nobody will attack heavily
If this was the Giro I'd give Cavendish 0.000 chance
If this was the Giro we'd be actively discussing how many contenders would attack before the final climb.

Retirement Shack's LL had some x-rays done. He may have a broken wrist
EDIT: Almost instantly he's updated on this, nothing's broken.

Why? There is evidence to show that Cavendish can win this stage? So why can he "forget" it?
You're making no sense at all.

Are you an idiot or did you simply not read page 1?

Not choosing sides for anyone here, but Cav was in better shape at those races. Milan-San Remo this year and he was dropped, so really, you can't say for sure he will survive those hills with enough power to sprint.

See tour de suisse stage 4. (The one he crashed in), not too dissimilar.

Theres a difference between saying he will definately win, he could win, or he has no chance.
Nobody is suggesting the first option, but equally, nobody should be suggesting the last option.

I have to agree with SN here. I didn't read the first page either, but I understood that there had been posted some relevant posts earlier in this thread.
It is wise to read everything that has been said in a discussion before jumping into the frying pan |

If you actually read what I said, I was only calling you an idiot if you had read Page 1. And you say you did not, so there was no need for such a ridiculous overreaction.
But really, before you join an ongoing discussion about Cavendish's chances, before making outlandish statements such as "well..cav can forget about his ambitions!" and being fairly abrupt in your response of "well, show me?" - it would be a good idea to read where the discussion started, where you would see that your claims had already been discredited.
Now, calm down and get back on topic

Because we all presume members of PCM Daily have enough common sense, and credibility (I like this word) to read and search for answers without having everything handed on a plate to them right in front of their faces (where the answer usually is anyway).

Really don't think tomorrow (or I guess today for most of you) is going to be a day for the sprinters. Isso noted that "If this was the Giro we'd be actively discussing how many contenders would attack before the final climb." I don't think any of the contenders will go, but I think a Cunego, LL Sanchez, or (dare I say it) Voigt will attack and any of them could win the stage. |

Hopefully youre right Deadpool, theres plenty of other days for the sprinters - and some exciting attacks would be great

If that is the situation Horner could have a go. And maybe Millar will go in the 'morning' break and get Mountain points.

I don't see Bruyneel letting Horner go. Bruyneel is one of those DS's who is way too smart for his own good. I think he'll keep his team on a tight leash so that no one a) exhausts themselves so they can't help Lance later and b) shows off what form the entire team is in. He knows that Lance and Radioshack is actually a huge wildcard in this race, he could be at Contador's and Schleck's level, he could be at Wiggins' and Vande Velde's level, or he could be no where near any of them. As such, he doesn't want to show his hand until hopefully the Pyrenees and at least the Alps. |
