Looking at the Alpe-D´huez stage, it could probably be too much for Valverde, also the TT is 50 km long which may also bee too long for him. Maybe his change is that he already know that he will not run the TdF and come to la Douphine is better form than all the others TdF leaders..
Do we have the startlist already?
or at least a short one with the main riders?

I think if Valv is the leader he will do fine. Atleast one of those guys has to be able to stay with him each day for the climbs.

Yes they should, but I think that Luisle, Cobo, Moreau, Plaza and Soler had not ride properly this year. so maybe thhey are not completely fit.
I really will love Valverde winning it but it is going to be hard.... |

Caisse got the strongest team, no doubt about that. Still interesting to see the other riders aswell, should start getting into shape atleast.
And Nibali might be a strong outsider

I'm going to make a biased list on all the favourites signed up for the race. (According to cyclingstartlist.com)
Alberto Contador
Soler, LL Sanchez, Valverde - depending on whose leader
Samuel Sanchez
Vincenzo Nibali
Sylvester Szmyd
Jurgen Van de Broeck
Denis Menchov

Menchov is in horrible shape atm, he had to skip the height training camp of the Rabo tour squad (with Gesink, ten Dam and Boom) and also dropped out of the Tour of Belgium

Valverde easily, strongest team and the guy showed us what he has got by winning the Veulta last year, i wouldn't rule him out for a poduim at the TDF this year awell, he has had a brilliant year so far. |
