Without sounding like I want to yell at anyone, I remind people that the points' jersey is in no way a sprinters' jersey. Even at the Tour de France, where the flat stages give waaay more points than the others, it's not about being the best sprinter.
It's a consistency jersey. It's about being the most consistent rider

Didn't you said that Sastre wasn't in good enough form for the Giro? And that was why there was a rumour (or something true, can't remember) that he was going to rider the Vuelta?

Right now he isn't, but he has time to improve until the last week.
As for the Vuelta, I've thought about it and concluded he's probably going to do a Cipollini: his team wouldn't be invited without him, so he shows up and does nothing

How about editing the confirmed 9 man squads into the first post, as they're confirmed? Liquigas announced theirs today. That makes it about 10 or so teams.

With all the TT's how are people expecting pellizotti to take it over Evans and Astana riders? (Just asking, this will be the first giro they show here so i've never really watched it before. ) |

Prologue: 8km. It's very very short.
TTT: 32kms. Evans has an awful team. Liquigas usually dominate TTTs.
Kronplatz ITT: It's a mountain TT. Up one of the hardest mountains you'll ever see. And they ran it once before. The winner was.....Pellizotti.
Final stage ITT: 15kms. Only. Half of which is up and down a 4.5% climb.
There's barely any ITT as you can see. And with Evans' awful team...

Thanks I didn't even consider the uphill TT before. I guess it could be a very close GC race. |

I truly think the TTT is (as always ) gonna make one or two top riders lose this Giro.
I'd only bet for Pellizotti for GC (other jerseys aren't really important to me).
But I think it's gonna be really close between Sastre and the Liquiguys.
The route is really amazing this year, even though a flat long ITT is quite missing.
