Amstel: Russell Downing

Before or after Downing does a top 10 in Le Tour Pfft

Top 5 please.

he's no tour rider. sadly the world champs isn't tough enough for him this year but when it's back at the cauberg he'll take that. Wink

On a slightly less realistic note, I love these classics and as long as valverde doesn't win then i'm happy. rooting for gilbert as well

Amstel is anyone's game.
Liége will be very interesting

Flèche? Contador.

If he competes, which will likely happen, then why not ?
That's what I've been thinking since he said he'd involved in hilly Classics this year.

Sastre and Kreuziger winning one day classics. Yeah when that happens hell froze over.

How is Sastre ever going to win Fleche? And Kreuziger usually puts out in the last 20km

Quote of the year, anyone?

Yes way things are going is he's won the Vuelta, will win P-N, the Ardennes classics and then finally get a worldwide ban before riding the TdF disguised as David Lopez and win that too.

LL Sánchez: "AGR one of the finest classics"

Wednesday 14 April 2010
The Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez, leader of the UCI world rankings, has joined the list of favorites for the Amstel Gold Race. Luis León Sánchez and Alejandro Valverde, together a strong tandem in the Caisse d'Epargne team. That both leaders are ready to climb the so-called classic Amstel Gold Race, Flèche Wallonne and Liege-Bastogne-Liege was proven last week.
Sanchez took the final victory in the French Circuit de la Sarthe stage race ,Valverde did the Tour of the Basque Country, only the American Chris Horner was too strong.

Luis Leon Sanchez welcomes being at the Amstel Gold Race. "Although I do not have much experience in Dutch races. Amstel Gold Race is a race with much prestige. I think every rider would like to win this classic. Me too, at least. Amstel Gold Race is one of the best classics on the UCI calendar. To write my name on that one day race, is a dream, "says Sanchez.

The 26-year-old leader of the individual world rankings, missed the Amstel Gold Race the last 2 years. "But I know the race. Previously I have ridden it one or two times. But without a decent outcome as result. I hope that this time will be different. I'm in great shape and am very motivated. "

Sánchez, a decent climber and very strong time trialist, starts this time with a different motivation. He wishes to consolidate or reinforce his leadership in the world ranking. "In our team the team leader is Alejandro Valverde in principle for the classics. So also in the Amstel Gold Race, where everyone will ride on his wheel. But I can probably benefit. The course of the race will determine our roles. "

Luis Leon Sanchez tipped his teammate Alejandro Valverde as one of the main contenders in the 45th Amstel Gold Race, which incidentally has never been won by a Spaniard. Valverde and his Spanish prey on a first in the Dutch ProTour classic. ,, Alejandro is undoubtedly one of the big time favorites, like Frank and Andy Schleck are too. Joaquim Rodriguez, Alexander Kolobnev, Samuel Sánchez and Chris Horner are also in top condition from the Tour of the Basque Country. Even those riders will seriously be reckoned with. It is certainly an interesting course Sunday. I hope that I will be with the best top on the Cauberg, but the important thing is that Team Caisse d'Epargne wins the Amstel Gold Race. "

Amstel: Kolobnev
Fleche: Pozatto
Liege: Ivanov

I did notice that nobody had mentioned Katusha's riders, and i guess they have a fair chance for winning one of them.
But here is a bit more realic guess
Amstel: A. Schleck
Fleche: Freire
Liege: Valverde

ruben
How is Freire winning Fleche Wallone realistic?

rjc_43
And lots of people have mentioned Rodriguez, who is arguably the Katusha hilly classic leader this season.

And a rider who's not explosive, like Schleck winning Amstel, isn't impossible, but it's unlikely.

Amstel: Valverde
LBL: Valverde
Fleche Wallone: Valverde

Not only is he my fav rider, hes in form aswell, performances in Paris- Nice and Tour of the Basque country proves that, he has to be the favourite.

I'll put a dime on Samuel Sánchez for one of the races... Fleche or Liege I think...

Could Ivanov do a wonder again? Possibly... I think the surprise of the year could be Hoogerland, Gerrans or van Garderen.
