Frédéric Guesdon will win the RvV after a breakaway with 97km left and he will be joined by Markus Eichler but Guesdon will take the sprint. That is what I call a prediction. |

Franco Ballerini made an - in my eyes - awesome quote about Paris Roubaix: it's something like this (very free translated by me):
To win Paris Roubaix you have to learn to lose there. You have to experience the changing conditions over the years and overcome your fears. Then, slowly, your faith will be strengthed - the faith in yourself to be stronger, stronger than La Roubaix.

For me one of the most simple (and best) Roubaix quotes, was last years race slogan, which was something along the lines of
La dure des dures.
The hardest of the hard/toughest of the tough.
Of course, the "Roubaix is so hard you have to be the best to win" is like most Roubaix myths: not entirely true
Thankfully it's not a complete lie, like some of them
To win Roubaix you don't have to be the strongest, you have to have a powerful cocktail of skill, luck, and will. Plenty of times a weaker rider will win because the stronger rider(s) either have bad luck or don't push themselves as hard as the winner. |

The last two installments of the Ronde have been wash-outs imo.
Here's hoping for a good one. Hope Pozzatto has enough strength to try and get off Boonen's wheel this year. And who knows how Cancellara will perform this time out? |

And Boonen will have a 3.5square mm piece of lettuce between his 2nd and 3rd molar

Pozzato? He will never win anyone of those two races. |

I love the cobbled classics, my favourite races.
So much so, that this year, i'm going to De Ronde!
Followed the sunday after with the compulsary viewing of Road to Roubaix just before Eurosport show Roubaix live.
I'm complimenting your plans, Doddy: I'll be watching Ronde on Eurosport and then attending Paris-Roubaix the following weekend. Anybody know of any half decent Ronde films to watch btw? |

There is this series on Belgian telly. It's called "De Flandriens". It's about great rivalries and the (sometimes forgotten/unknown) stories of "Flandriens" (ie riders who did well in RVV & PR). It's awesome!
But it's in dutch tho. :-/
You can check out some vids of it here if you like: https://video.canv...programmas
I wish I could be more helpful but I don't know any great films about RVV

Why not?
For the Ronde I'll call out Cancellara and Gilbert and I think the Paris - Roubaix will be another Boonen - Pozzato showdown. You may throw in Cancellara there as well. |

I think Pozzato can do well at RvV and maybe even win, but in PR he wont stand a chance to Cancellara, Bonnen, heck maybe even Hagen although they might be pretty even. But I can bet that Pozzata will not win PR is all I'm trying to say.

To continue the saga of how deep in Lance's pocket is Velonews, we get this gem:
Armstrong joins Sébastien Rosseler and Tomas Vaitkus to try to challenge for victory.
Yes, that's right, Armstrong is now a favorite for Flanders.

It's definite: no Pozzato for the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Just read it on the sporza website.
