I had to attend a rather important meeting today and did actually miss the start by a few minutes. Luckily for me, they had hosting problems, meaning that I made it just in time - and also had to host it as it turned out that the ones selected for hosting couldn't fulfil their task.
... in less unfortunate news, I missed out by finishing 6th overall. I sucked, so not much to say about that
Yeh, I messed up the final sprint in Round 1, and even more so in Round 3 against you - but by then, I didnt need to beat you, so all was good (Round 2 was a very close finish, I couldnt have done much more)

Yeh, I consider myself lucky to have been in a fair group - with no noticeable intentional blockings, and certainly no team plays.
(Except by the AI )

Not sure what happened to SN, but he didn't proceed from the 1st round of 200 m TT.
Anyway - remember that the first round of scratch is tomorrow
Being the best in PCMdaily at the 200m TT didnt really help much It would have taken a lot of practice and experimentation to gain the 1 or 2 tenths extra that I needed, and I didnt really have the time for that.
But as I expected, I might have snuck through if I was in a different group.
Why the Italian organisers decide to eliminate more than half the entrants, only to then have 6 groups of 9 in the next round (When games can have up to 16 players), I dont know.

Cause make a first turn where 75% players pass has nosense
I choose to make 16 only finals and some semifinals when much players cause less players = less crash = less lag
The High AI setting is a bit of a ruiner - its unnecessary too - this being a human world cup after all.
The Scratch was typically enfuriating though. Staying near the front, trying to conserve energy, some Italian guy goes slowly, suddenly im at the back. Down goes my energy and no matter what I do it just doesnt recover. You cant do well in the Scratch with no energy for the last 5+ laps
