Stage 3
Piana - Chiaravalle
sprinters show is over..now hilly specialists should step forward. And we will see GC favorites in action
Two hills to take..Hivert opens the game.
Then Gallegarin, Nicki Sörensen and Codol follows..
Galicia team decided to play for Garcia Da Pena today..he has been best today in climbs. He follows..
Man who started all this Hivert can not follow..
Final climb has started and second wave coming from behind..Verheyen
...Botcharov
3km. to go..Huguet has cought lead four. Da Pena decided to but all out at the same moment..and do not wait Botcharov and co. ..Codol follows
Last km. this was great move..Da Pena still leading..can he realy hold on againt Codol..
..not quite. Codol is to strong for him. Stage win and tour lead to Codol. But we have reason to be happy..great race. Tactics was working out. Pacheco still with sprinters jersey. Veloso 11th. place is not bad result. Da Pena is podium candidate.

Stage 4
Final Stage
Final day...stage has only one place for possible solution. Hill 25km. before finish line..
..and action. Huguet atacking first..he was super strong yesterday..he was only rider who cought favorite atack group all alone
strong trio follows..Botcharov, Verheyen, Viconti.
Da Pena need to follow that attempt..If we likes to keep he's podium dream alive..
..man who is wearing nr. 1 ..Noe follows. First time we see him in action..
..after hill top ..another atack wave. This is hard for Da Pena..he is riding now in red zone and will hope that descent will come soon enough.
..and he made it. Descent..Botcharov at the front tryed to escape and use he's great descending speed several times. No chanche..Nicki Sörensen closed them all down fast.
Back in flat section..surprise atack. Not atack himself..but who was atacking..Corenc, Colex and David Rosch
soon enough David Rosch was all alone at the front..he must be in top shape at february..this is amazing ride.
..and stage win., Young guy will remember that one.
Vicioso is fastest and takes second..Da Pena has survived. Colom was absolutely invisible today...he sneaked into that lead group and defended overall lead and victory.
Da Pena is GC 3rd. , Pacheco has won sprinters jersey. Great start for season.

Stage 1
Palma stage
Opening day..city stage. With sharp corners..fast peloton..breakaway panic..crashes..as always.
First victim is Ag2r rider Riblon..he carshes. Tempo has been all day fast.. He has no chanche to get back.
Then Dean was down..also Danny Pate crashed later. Bad day for Garmin..who is in spain with real strong team.
This has been grazy day..another split. Our leader Cesar Veloso need to fight hard if he likes to get back at the front group.
Finaly..it is over. I was realy surprised how well all Landbouwkrediet team survived thrue that nervous day..when sprint started they had 4 riders in front position and they controlled the situation. It helped Amorison to beat Freire in final sprint..great job. Landbouwkrediet has amazing february.
0 day for us. Positive is that all riders can start tomorrow..and leader Cesar Veloso did not loose any time.
crash spoiled my results and screenshots..sry.

Stage 2
Son Servera - Cala Millor
This should be sprinters stage...yesterday city stage was disaster.
50 km to go..I did not expect that one. Cobo atacking at flat surface...
at least it causes some movment..Anza and yesterdays unlucky Ag2r rider Ribolon follows..
..but all come back together for mass sprint.. Rabobank (Freire) and Garmin (Farrar) has took over control..ready for sprint.
..and all out. Galicia riders is out of the game again..Farrar has took the lead..Ciolek follows..and Freire. This is best sprint show what you can get..Big league.
This 3 are separating..Ciolek is trying ta pass Farrar..he is close..Freire has chanche to take a left line. He isnt strong enough.
Farrar managed to hold it..This was great to watch. First hills tomorrow.

Stage 3
Inca - Inca
Today tour starts..
atack..89,6km to go..Gerdemann, Goesinnen and Pasamontes.
Tempo has been real fast today...thanks to Caisse, Boygues and Euskaltel teams.
..another surprise Hesjedal can not follow. I was considering him as possible podium candidate...Ficher comes back to help him.No change...he is out from GC battle.
Before the sprint..Huguet desperate attempt..no chanche.
Cesar Veloso has placed well..He is quite tired but still ready to sprint out when Boygues stars will make a move..
Cesar Veloso did not had legs to keep up 4th is not bad..nice double for Boygues Voecler and Trofimov. Vicioso was third..

Stage 4
Bunyola - Bunyola
Queen stage. I would not expect much for a day. Just keep up with leaders as long as possible. I was realy impressed yesterday about Boygues team..how they controlled a race..was pulling in the climb..and managed took 1..2 in Caisse playground. They lost Pro Tour license..but seems it was motivator for a team.
We decided to send Marcos García..into breakaway to collect KOM points and secure the jersey. Here he is taking he's 4th. hilltop with max. point.. He has been all day with Murilo Fischer, Oleg Chuzhda and Dmitri Champion.
Just before peloton as cought breakaway group..Flamina leader Caruso crashed. Terrible timing..he is out of the game. 25km, to go...
...2km. later..Breakaway riders has given up..Favorites will decide a stage in final climb now.
..and here we come. Just small lead group is left... Xacobeo - Galicia has two riders in it.. Castano and breakaway rider Garcia.
..and Boygues again. Can you believe it? This tempo is to much for Garcia..he is droped..Castano also in trouble
..and Castano is droped.Boygues has destroyed a pack..
at the front..Garate atack before hilltop and final descent.Fedrigo counter..
Valverde..first time in action at 2010.
Then Rubén Plaza decided to go alone..
Final descent..lead group is formed..Garate, Valverde, Plaza, Fedrigo and Visconti.
Nothing can stop Fedrigo and Boygues..stage win, tour lead. Caisse riders 2 and 3. They are not looking happy..
Castano comes 1'49 later..inside a big group. He is GC 24th. now..and team leader for final stage.
Garcia was great today..strong ride in breakaway and KOM jersey.

Remark:
You have now reading already longest Galicia story on PCMDaily history..
2006 PCM (Balaverde) story did not last over 4 replays (team intro.)
2007 PCM (Jolly) He did not wasted time with presentation ..finished TOUR DE SAN LUIS (16 replays)
2008 PCM (trueatfirstlight) It was good one. Lot of text and good reading . Sad that did not last long (19 replays) |

Stage 5
Magaluf - Palmanova
Yesterday stage was reality check for us. When final climb started..20 riders just ride away. Castano did actualy good..he was keeping low profile and take max. out..Final stage today.
Garcia again in breakaway group..to make shure that now one will not take over he's KOM jersey leading position. Today we have solid 12 riders group in breakaway.
78 km. to go..atack from main group..Pasamontes, Galdos, Riblon..
Small panic in Boygues..all theyr riders at the front and keep on pushing hard to close this last breakaway down. Not looking good at all..
at the front..fast trio has cought early breakaway group. 61km. to go..now we have 15 riders at the front..they have chanche to survive. If they starting to work together.
19km. to go..Final uphill. 15 riders group still ahead. Good news..Garcia is still n there. Another attempt to leave main group behind. Arrieta ..another Caisse rider follows..Is it Valverde?
Yes it is..Valverde with Vicioso..
Tour leader Ferdigo in panic..he is going after them..all alone.
another wave..Casero decided to follow. This is only way to improve GC final standings
Final descent..Caisse at the front. Holding tempo fast as possible..Valverde is in that group. Fredrigo did not made it..Garcia is stil in
Chase group..Fedrigo working hard..good news for us. Casero is in it. Bruseghin is last man in that group.. We can not expect that he wil help Fredrigo to get after that first group..
Hugh crash behind..Freire was down, GC 5th. Plaza..Gerdemann..Boom..Efimkin.
Just before the sprint..Pasamontes pulling fast as possible.. Only Hugo Sabido follows. Stupid Caisse guys..they should play for Valverde If they want tour win..
sprint ...Fedrigo made it. Totaly empty Casero as trouble to follow sprint speed..he need to keep going. If he iikes to get same time..
at the front Hugo Sabido trying to pass Pasamontes.
no way..Psamontes is way more powerful at the end.
Fedrigo is Mallorca tour winner..
Casero is GC 10th...exelent result after yesterday 25th.. Garcia got climber jersey..and was biggest surprise for me, great fighter.
