Damn, thats really dissapointing, Valverde always seems to fail at flat finishes

Not very bad, although I was hoping more from Fédrigo.

It's all in Herald Sun Tour for me.

Even with Piemonte still to come, we can kiss promotion goodbye I think. Dissapointed Ginanni missed out on the team goal of 5th as well.

Not much you can do about it though - have the strongest team in the race and finish 9th. Lesson well and truly learned for next year. Sad

Too dissapointed to even spell disappointed correctly.

You really need to get past Starbucks to help your hopes, but i guess you may now need a huge Piemonte for that

Well, I knew Napolitano won Piemonte as it was raced yesterday. Hoping for a better performance in the other races though.

(Had to launch Piemonte earlier today to export the startlist for the preview as I'd forgotten yesterday. Decided to run it x8 to see what would happen - Almost the same race - Napolitano was easily the fastest again in the sprint (finished 2nd), as one rider from the late break made it to the line. Can't understand why he doesn't perform more consistently. Sad)

Great race - huge effort by Nocentini to get Wiggle what they needed, but then Napolitano delivering at the last possible moment. Thats the last classic of the season, and how crucial it could have been

pretty much

so my last three races have been so promising but have given me not much in terms of points.

Why can't Ventoso sprint?

Rankings

With just Tour du Faso and the Sun Tour to go, we are closing in on the final standings - but there is still so much that is yet to be decided.

Individual

Valverde has managed to scrape past Cornu and retake the lead - by just 6 points. But poised in 3rd place is Rein Taaramae - a Top 5 position in Australia should be enough, regardless of stage placings there.

Ginanni climbs past Trofimov for 4th, while Ignatiev is up 2 to 5th. Ben Swift climbs 10 places to 8th, now becoming the leading ranked sprinter in the division, so despite passing Henao Montoya, Nocentini has not quite been able to break into the Top 10.

Rankings

Team

Sony Ericsson are starting to look secure in 1st, having slightly outscored Jack Wolfskin in the last few stages - so Jack Wolfskin had better watch out for the charging 100% Me.

Leaping up to 4th are Vespa-Caffreys, but its very tight with them Energie-Diesel and Nespresso. Starbucks' season is over with them in 7th, and while Wiggle performed well, it may not have been good enough.

Slightly further down, a strong finish by Team Nos now puts them in the hunt for a top 10 placing.

Ginanni had a fairly poor finish to the season. I hope he realizes this when we get down to the business of negotiating a new contract.

It could all boil down to who IKEA make team leader - Taaramae or Larsson

damn, 100% Me are quite close. But 99 points might be enough to keep the 2nd place.

yea i guess, it would be annoying for IKEA if Larsson was made leader

Well Energie Diesel and Nespresso are riding the Sun Tour so they'll finish above Vespa.

Wiggle too might with a good showing there. Here's hoping it will be a very competitive race.
