You can not win all races you entered, so I'm not sad about it. Hope, I will be in good shape in May and will participate in Giro

Giro della province di Grossetto
This race is very important for me, as it was my first of such class races, in 2007 I finished 27th there. This time I am going to win it. I am in pretty good shape now and I think I have all chances to do that, as there are no first class riders. My main rivals will be Andrea Noe and Giovanni Visconti.
As you can see, first stage is flat, so I did not expected something good from today. There was few tries to make breakaway group, but all of them were unsuccessful. The only group which could remain in front for long time was the group of Metluschenko, Jarc and Marzoli.
That riders were too dangerous, so we managed two guys in front of peloton and finally catched them.
After that there was sprint for a victory. I set down on Polish champion' wheel and it was very good move!
He was speeded up by his domestiques and I just had to hold on his wheel. After all Jezowski became first and I said to myself: "C'mon, it's time to make you move!"
I increased speed, leaved his stream and come abreast with him, but his speed was too fast. The only thing I could do today is not to loose whole bike length to him.
Second place! Wow! It's fantastic! Tomorrow will be more difficult stage, but I looking forward to third and the last stage, there will be very tough finish and I rounded it my racebook.

When I woke up in the day of second stage of the race and looked through the window, I said to my room mate Thomas Bertolini: "F...k! Today there will be tough race". The reason of that was a tree stick that flew by the window. It was fast, very fast! To be honest, I really hate when it is windy, but it is my job indeed, you never got what you need just because you want it.
So, when we stood in the start (today I was wearing points classification leader's jersey), I pointed out for my teammates, that we all need to hold positions in front of group. Right from the start the pace was very fast, so some riders pulled off the bunch in first 10 km's. Of course, not only our team wanted to be in fronts, so there were few mass falls, but luckily no one from Andronni-Giocattolli got the works.
That pace was the reason of situations when no breakaways lived for more than 20 km's. And, when we came to those two hills at last kilometers of the stage, the bunch was like a bomb. The first hill was passed without problems, but pace stretched out the group very hard. So, when we reached turn of the road, peloton blowed out. It was good surprise, when I saw myself in front group of 12 riders with three my teammates.
We started to work hard and quickly made a gap over one minute. Relays were long and when it was my turn to be the "knife blade" we reached last hill. I worked hard and quickly became alone, as no one could match me on climb.
The all other job was just a matter of tech. I worked on 100 per cent and now I have unbeatable advantage of 3 minutes in front of all others. Unbelievable!
So, my goal for tomorrow is just stay with a main group and victory will be in my pocket.

Thanks! I hope, but you never know what it will be. Right now I am in very good shape (around 80%), so I guess if teamwork will be right I will be easy to save a lead in last stage.

Did you make a gap with attacking, or did you relay? |

I just made my relay. I think a reason of that result is that I was the only climber in first group and I had very good shape (78 and +3)

As we are italian-based team, we will ask for WC in Giro of course. Also We want to be in Tirreno-Adriatico, Milano-San-Remo, GP di Lombardia. As an option we could ask for WC in one of spring classics and it would be interesing to participate in new events in Canada.
As for me, I don't think that I will ride in all of that races, but I really hope to be in Giro

The last stage made me sad. No, I didn't loose overall lead. I just expected a tough fight for a victory, but that was my mistake. The weather today was much, much better that the one in past two days. Wind was weak and the only thing that had darken peloton was slightly went down air temperature. I put on armwarmers and did not take them away through all the stage.
After yesterdays stage no one talked about took away my leaders jersey and I was thinking that guys like Visconti just hide their whishes and I was ready to counter any attack. Mt fitness was pretty good and today I feel myself like I am the best.
But kilometers passed and no rivals showed up. When we came to finish circles, the breakaway was catched and I came to front row, expecting attack on every meter. But the only attack I saw was Visconti's attack with just 5 km to finish line.
I didn't react on that, because I had over 4 minutes lead over him and you can not win 4 minutes on 5 km's. Only Leonardo Bertagnolli, my teammate reacted and that was good for him, as he had won third overall position. I just finished relaxed on 9th position today.
Then it was awarding ceremony, where I got my prize. Also I met with one of the hostesses (blonde), her name is Anna, she is from Massa Maritima, where the race finished. She kissed me, gave me prize and said: "Do you want to walk around? I can show you the town." My team will leave the town tomorrow, so I think I will have time to have a walk with Anna. To be honest, I am going to meet her right now. So long!

I am happy to let you know that I just renewed my contract with Andronni Giocattoli for another two years and will ride for them till 2013. I have a topic in contract that I can ride a bike that not supported by team bike manufacturer, so I can renew my contract with Ridley too.
Also Jakson Rodriges and Alessandro Bertolini renewed their contracts for one year.
