Well, at least you learnt something new right?
Want to know how far behind cycling news is? Yesterday they broke the story that Astana are on specialized next year.

But that isn't due to the fact that they're behind every other site. I remember that story was showed before by CN. I suppose that they just had nothing better to show.
Well, either that or someone broke the wrong story |

Also, Theo Eltink quits his professional career after not being able to find a team.
This is a guy who was 29th in the Giro and 24th in the Vuelta in his first 2 pro years. Only to never ever be even close to doing something worthwhile the remainder of his 'career' |

That was mentioned here a couple of days ago, to which I replied that he'll probably be back when a team offers him a contract next year... |

Well not exactly latest but Taaramäe gave an interview a week ago. Main poinst were:
He said that he did bad at Paris-Nice because he followed the Cofidis trainers plan and it was too intense for him. He had a lot of power but no endurance so he changed his training plan.
Then he talked about the Vuelta 9th stage where he came close to winning. He had 39:27 gears while others had 32:27, he says the mechanics made a mistake judging the race profile.

Sky is up and running.
Website: www.teamsky.com
Lots of rider profiles, their full schedule including rosters for all races in Jan/Feb, Blogs and stuff as well.
A good solid website.

Yes, they will use Specialized this year. No, it's not news.

Speaking of possible future contenders, remember Dmytro Grabovskyy the MAJOR prospect that failed so far as a pro (as most eastern europeans tend to do)?
Sure, we heard of his bad behaviour and crashed cars, but now he's told the world about his vodka addiction. According to himself, he very nearly died of alcohol poisoning twice already during his career (he's 24)
Says he's finally cured now. Hopefully he can steady the ship, but somehow I doubt it.

He obviously won't be what he seemed to promise when he was younger, but if he's really cured I think that he should become a better rider. Not much more than Popovych II anyway, though that isn't bad at all. |

What Kumazan means is that when Popovych turned pro, considering his youth results everyone expected the second coming of Eddy Merckx.
Those expectations were raised when he had a brilliant neo-pro season and finished on the Giro podium in his second season despite being on the weakest team you've ever seen (meaning: with no team support)

Then he moved to Disco and started to get the second tier stuff instead of the primo, and his performances went downhill |
