I'm pretty sure that with a bit of luck I can better than the 3rd place, but still that's a very good performance by Kern.

Tour de San Luis - Stage 4
Ista got in the breakaway today and he won the second intermediate sprint of the day
But he was in a bit of trouble when the mountains came hardly keeping it up
Still that didn't stop him winning the second climb of the day as it was rather a hill than a climb
On the downhill before the last climb of the day the breakaway group had less than one minute advantage over the pack so it didn't look too good for them
Some of them were even caught before the climb started, including Ista while the last escape left was caught with 10 kilometers before the summit
With 5 kilometers before the top in front were left around 30 riders, with Kern and Taaramae being there for Cofidis
Jufre made the first attack 3 kilometers before the summit
And Kern was right after him
But all the favorites came in that group sooner or later and passed the summit together
So they are all together on the downhill which clearly is an advantage for Blanco
There were no other attacks until the last 5 km when Kern decided to have a go
And quite a surprise nobody came after him
He is first in the last kilometers and he already got a gap
Blanco is leading the chasers but can they stop Kern?
Well it seems that they can't as with 500m before the finish the gap is quite big
And yes, Kern brings the first victory of the season for Cofidis!
Blanco finished second, all the favorites losing at least 19 seconds to Kern today

Tour de San Luis - Stage 5
Even though they have sometimes more than 8 minutes advantage over the pack the escapes weren't a real threat as neither of them was a good climber
On the last climb the first move was made by Jufre
One of the many riders that followed him was, of course, Kern
They soon caught the escapes that were still in front and started to leave them behind, one by one
A group of 4 which included Kern and Sutherland looked like might go away from the other
But they were fast brought back in the group even though Kern clearly didn't want that
With 3 kilometers before the summit Taaramae also joined the leading group, bringing Sinkewitz with him
As they reached the final kilometer Fuglsang and Jufre looked like going to get away from the others
And they did eventually with Fuglsang winning the stage by only just
Kern finished in the second group and somehow managed to keep the third place overall in front of Fuglsang. Not the same for Blanco who lost the leader's jersey to Jufre
Also pretty good result for Taaramae, which brings him on 26th overall

Tour de San Luis - Stage 6
Even though the pack clearly didn't want this to happen it looks like the escapes will win today's stage. The 5 lucky guys are: Johnson, Vanotti, Kloucek, Bowman and Ramirez Abeja
On the last uphill section of the day Bowman, Johnson and Vanotti got away from the other 2 and it looks like it's going to be between them for the stage win today
Bowman is leading the sprint with 2.5 kilometers left but he clearly is in the worst position there
Ista also got away from the pack on the last hills but it's too late to stop the escapes now
With 1 kilometer to go Vanotti and Johnson are trying to pass Bowman
And they both did. Bowman is out of the battle for the stage win now
Even though Vanotti looked to be the stronger sprinter it's Johnson who has the best position with 400 meters left
And the Ouch riders gets the stage win in front of Vanotti and Bowman
Ista finished 6th, bringing the pack in the same time with the other 2 escapes

Tour de San Luis - Final Stage
Ista was just one of the many escapes of the day. He was quite active in the mountain sprints but didn't manage to take the jersey from Swindlehurst in the end
On the last climb of the day Kern tried his luck for a second stage win with an attack. The escapes were still in front though
He joined the escapes with 6 kilometers before the finish
Well not all the escapes as 2 of them got away from the others and they were the leaders at that point: Vandborg and Gilioli
Ista and Lea tried to joined them but they didn't have much time left to do that
While the other escapes, including Kern, were brought back in the pack. Not a very good way for Kern to end this tour
Lea and Ista clearly have difficulties in their try to catch Gilioli and Vandborg so it's most likely going to be between the last 2 for the stage victory
Vandborg seems to be stronger that Gilioli as he looks like going to make a gap
there
With 1 kilometer to go the gap is still the same, but that's not very good news for Gilioli
Still he looked a little bit stronger in the final meters but it was too late and Vandborg won the last stage in Argentina
Ista beat Lea in the battle for the third place and took an another podium for Cofidis
Jufre is the winner of Tour de San Luis this year, with the main favorite, Fuglsang, just 4th. Also nice performance from our best rider in this race: Kern, finishing 3rd

The month of February starts with the Marseille GP, our first French race of the season. Moncoutie seems to be our strongest rider for this race but after his last results in Tour de San Luis, Kern also has a strong position in the team so we will have 2 leaders for the race.
De Waele, Uran, Joly, Trofimov and Roche seem to be the strongest opponents in this race for the 2 Cofidis leaders.
61. C.Kern
62. S.Augé
63. R.Cusin
64. S.Dumoulin
65. J.Fouchard
66. T.Gallopin
67. D.Moncoutié
68. D.Monier

GP d'Ouverture La Marseillaise
As always in a classic it's going to be very hard for the escapes to count in the final results even though they were quite a lot today
With 30 kilometers to go, De Waele made the first big attack of the day
When the last climb of the day started he joined the breakaway group, but it was only the second group as the escapes had split into 2 groups
Few minutes after that the second group was caught and new attacks started. Haguet and Roche were the first ones, followed closely by Moncoutie and Kern
Kern looked like going to be the strongest from the many attackers but he wasn't able to catch the other escapes left on the road
That did happen a few kilometers later at the end of the climb
No one was able to make the difference so we have 18 riders in the front group going to fight for the win on the final small uphill. Kern and Moncoutie are there for Cofidis
As they reached the final 2 kilometers of the race, Kern is trying to launch Moncoutie in the final sprint
The 2 Cofidis riders are leading in the last kilometer even with a small gap between them and the others
Roche is in the third position. He is a nice punchi - sprinter but can he stop the 2 Cofidis riders?
He caught them with 500 meters before the finish
But he can't do anything to beat them and the first one who realizes that is Moncoutie
It's a double for Cofidis and Kern wins GP d'Ouverture La Marseillaise
