Is this the Fernando Alonso team, perhaps?
Maybe, but the team will be based in the Mediterranean coast, and I'm sure that Alonso would base his team in Asturias.
Okay. Perhaps, this is the team that Rasmussen is negotiating with? Latest guess is Footon-Servetto, but it sounds quite unlikely that a PRT would want MR - but this team would make more sense. |

Could it be Communitat Valenciana's or Balears Islands' come back ?
It could also be a team in Andalousia, Murcia or Catalona according to Mediterranea.
Then, CKT-TMIT are building their team. After Korkotyan, Beuchat and Matsuo, two 19 year's old new armenians, one living in France, and a Taipei Citizen who rode for Meitan Hompo in 2008.

I'm thinking of an older jersey, watching old cycling sometimes knocks the current day out of you.

As mentioned earlier today in a separate thread, Michael Boogerd is starting his own team. It's supposed to launch as a continental team in 2011 and will be supported by Specialized. |

I saw a pic of him in a Specialized shirt, so they migth be the main sponsor. They are still looking for other sponsors though, and hope to start with half a million as budget, and then grown towards the Pro Tour.
With Boogerd as leader of it all...
I've still gotta see it happening. But, it's good of course to see a new Dutch team emerge. Hope they'll take some talents from Rabo CT so that the Dutch 'almost-super-talents' can then be team leader(or at least a free role) as well instead of working for the actual 'super-talents'' .. |

If I remember correctly I read that he is trained as a computer programmer. In an interview he stated that he wanted to start a company and make a game better than PCM. |

Rahsaan 'Chocolate Rocket' Bahati knows what's up.
I had the pleasure of meeting and having dinner with him back in August while he was at a race I helped put on and he's a really cool, down to earth guy. Mad respect for him, I hope to see his business ventures work out.

P.S. He gave himself that nickname when our announcer asked him what he wanted to be called lol.

Could you find that interview again? I'd love to read it. |

I really hope that Bahati's venture comes through. Its a fantastic story with him coming out of Compton and being a dominant force on the US domestic scene. |

Samuel Sanchez has said that next is all about the tour for him, but he don't deny that he will top at Pais Vasco aswell. Gonna be nice to have him back as a contender in the tour.

Did anyone read about The Giros possible future start in Washington DC? They must be crazy, the long flight plus time difference, i think they would need 2 rest days for that,

Yeah I was just reading about this. I can say from experience, flying from the East Coast of the US into Europe (I went to Greece which is a bit further than Italy) that the time difference is huge, especially if you can't sleep on planes. I ended up with a 10hr flight through the middle of the night, got there in the morning with no sleep and took a few days to recover.
I think logistically and for the riders sake it would be a terrible idea unless they have something unheard of planned for doing that.
However the selfish part of me would LOVE to have a big race like that come to America, especially within driving distance of where I live.
In conclusion, I'm really hoping it comes to America

Ok, well I stand by my point of it not gonna happend anyway , besides a few years ago Qatar offered to host the tour start, and ASO was "interested".
