garzelli in an interview after monte grappa's stage told that as he got dropped at the beginning of the mountain, he decided to take it easy and take some time in gc to make it easier for him to go for stages in the last week.

i think i did the same on the zoncolan as soon as he realized he couldn't stay with basso & c.

Nice ride by Gadret there. Not so happy with Garzelli his win, theres something that doesn't fit.

The most interesting Grand Tour I've ever seen and thank God it's not over. Mortirolo and Gavia still to come.
Speaking of tomorrow's stage I think he has the same profile as the Tour de France 2008 stage won by Ricco, followed by Piti and Cadel. Sorry I don't remember exactly the finish, but I think is something like "Rousseau".

Later edit: or maybe it was called "Super Besse"

His team were overlooked from what I remember. Probably to do with Paolini if I remember. Garzelli was talking about packing it all in at the time.

and what suprises you in Gadret performance? i think he fits perfectly for this kind of stage

Interesting to compare Nibali's time:

43'06 in 2008
42'28 in 2010

38 seconds improved, but a huge 14 spots.

He would've been around 13th 2 years ago with the time he produced today.

Jens Voigt in 2008 recorded a better time than Basso in 2010. I'm baffled.

There's a difference between being a rather good climber, with some quite decent results, and finishing 3rd on one of the hardest climbs in Europe, ahead of the likes of Nibali, Scarponi or Basso.
I mean, didn't that stage also perfectly fit Scarponi or Basso, knowing their form ?

Well, Gadre has had good performances once a while. He was quite strong on Alpe de Huez when Sastre won it.
