Looking increasingly likely that the 2018 World Cup will be hosted jointly by Spain and Portugal |

Well, the thing is, UEFA are the ones really pushing for this. The 2004 Euro in Portugal was an organizational success and is always quoted as the benchmark against which any euro or world cup is judged from the point of the organizers, because the organization was so perfect (even though from a football point of view it sucked).
So UEFA is really pushing for Portugal to host a World Cup so they can make a stronger case in the future that "World Cups in europe are much better organized, they should happen more often".
The problem is: Portugal doesn't have the infrastructure to host a world cup. Which is where Spain comes in. Neither the spanish nor the portuguese authorities are THAT much interested in making this happen. It's more UEFA trying all they can to make it happen. |

I think that UEFA should give another countries the chance to host, Portugal just hosted an final tournament in 2004(even it was Euro) but you see what happens with Poland and Ukraine, don't want to think what will happen if Romania and Bulgaria will do that It will be interesting to see one in the UK, trust me the have infrastructure

And you have the Olympics...
In my opinion, Portugal lacks a stadium with a bigger capacity than 75000 (well, in what concerns to average club attendance, they're more than enough) spectators to host a World Cup, as well as training facilities to all the teams (32 instead of the 16 from the Euro) during the event. Spain has a bunch of high capacity stadiums and top-level training facilities. The only thing that would possibly be necessary is to improve and modernize some of those stadiums.
Truth be said, they can have 5 stadiums in the 5-star level UEFA Ranking, but to be honest I'm not sure that some of them are really safe due to having more than 70 years in some cases.

They play every week on them, sometimes even twice, always the stadium is almost full so they should be safe

I didn't mean safe concerning to bombs, security fails, lack of qualified personal...but more as safe to the spectators, with acessibilities, and so on. To give you an example, Guimaraes' stadium, upgraded for Euro 2004, had a death of a player (I can smell isso or p3druh saying he was doped, but that's not the question), with lots and lots of times to get an ambulance inside the stadium (and there was, as there is always, one right outside the stadium, or even inside the compound), not to talk about some stadiums where spectatores with heart problems take lost of time to get helped by the paramedics. That's my question...

I was meaning too that with acessiblities etc. But you already have 2 or 3 stadiums Benfica, Porto and Sporting so you don't need to improve all the stadiums like the East countries

Well, that's because sucky clubs were promoted. that's life. you can't prohibit them from being promoted
Also, the 3rd one IS being used this season..... By a few different local clubs of the 3rd and 4th divisions |

But i want the 2018 WC to be hosted in Brazil. I cant think of a place more suitable, and a place more insuitable than Brazil.

Brazil is hosting the world cup in 2014 so giving them 2018 as well seems like overkill somewhat
