That makes sense. I just figured a big break really hadn't made it yet, so one was bound to stick sometime.

Get sprinters out of the peleton, so the sprint teams don't go to fast in the downhill. Avoiding accidents for their people in the high speeds in the downhill maybe. |

I hadn't think about it, but that does make sense, at least.

I think Lancey boy is a bit annoyed with the talk of Levi being a shit descender, so he's trying to shred it now...

Armstrong and Leipheimer were talking yesterday about how after Leipheimer had so much trouble to follow on the descent yesterday, they'd have to do something to remedy that on today's descent.
So they're keeping the pace high so that they can be at the front. This way, Leipheimer doesn't have to follow the pace of some other team, he can be guided by his teammates.
This way Leipheimer won't have trouble on the descent.
EDIT: Notice how Popovych is right behind Leipheimer, so that no one from other teams can come close to Levi.

It's actually incredible, this descent isnt hard, yet around every bend Lance puts 2/3 bike lengths into Levi who's sat behind him. Come on.

Armstrong is a pretty good descender, he's just holding back. If he was descending like he can, he'd drop Leipheimer....and he doesn't want that, of course.
