Gustavovskiy
Expecting more from Pinotti and Grabsch but good results nevertheless.

You were so close with Pinotti, but at least you won the US TT Champs with Zabriskie.

I'm looking forward to the Tour de France Smile

And the champion is...

2008: Tom Danielson Garmin Chipotle

Devine and Phinney are in the breakaway for Columbia.
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0003-4.png

And mostly because of Devine's fast pace the breakaway reaches more than 15 minutes advantage! It's pretty clear that they are the winners
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0004-3.png

So with 22km the first moves were made. Galvin and Phinney got away from the other 3
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0007-4.png

Devine maintaines himself perfectly in the second group without relaying
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0009-3.png

10 km to go and Phinney and Galvin have one minute advantage over the second group
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0012-2.png

It seems Wiscovitch and Euser had lost the fight as Devine is still not helping them
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0015-1.png

Move in the final sprint by Phinney
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0020-1.png

Only a few metres... Galvin is far away...
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0024-1.png

Win for Taylor Phinney! Just incredible! At 19 years he is the new USA Champion!
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0028-1.png

Devine was so happy for his team-mate win that he didn't want to fight for the last place on the podium. After the race Phinney said that his victory is at least 50% thanks to Devine.
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0031-1.png
Devine's response to that is that he did everything for Phinney there as only 2 days ago Taylor turned 19.

2008: Vladimir Gusev

Again a breakaway with a great advantage over the pack and going to have the first chance winning today. Ignatiev put his ass there and now his the big favourite
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0003-5.png

So no one from his breakaway-mates wanted to stay too much near him as they knew his power and tried attackes after attacks. Still Ignatiev responded at all of them
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0005-4.png

When Mikhail set a higher pace only Vorganov could stay with him
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0006-4.png

And to be sure that he wins today, with 20km left Ignatiev made a decisive attack
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0008-5.png

Vorganov couldn't come, he is dead
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0010-3.png

Ignatiev looks strong, he is riding at a high pace
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0012-3.png

But somehow he forgot to celebrate his victory by raising his hands or something like that. Still he is our 4th national champion this year after the 3 previous English speakers

big Trasnfer news, gigantic one I would say

Giovanni Visconti just got a contract renewal from Quick Step and he had accepted the offer. So we already lost a big sign goal for 2010. Sad

Nobody went with him and nobody chased him in the pack. His advantage was over 20 minutes
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0017-1.png

2008: Lars Boom Team Columbia

With 15km to there was a made an important group with Boom, the defending champion, Thomas Dekker, Weening, Eltink, Maaskant and Kroon
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0024-2.png

With 5km to go Maaskant attacked and Kroon went after him. From Rabobank there went only Weening
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0028-2.png

While Boom is dropped off by Eltink and Dekker from the second group
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0030.png

Kroon beat Weening and Maaskant in the uphill sprint and he is the new Duch Champion! Rabobank couldn't achive a Dutch title this year.

2008: Linus Gerdemann Team Columbia

Haussler was the first big name that attacked today, 15km to go
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0038.png

And because of that attack there was made a group of 'favourites' with Haussler, Schumacher, Fothen, Burghardt, Gerdemann and Gottfried
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0040.png

With 3km to go Gerdemann made a serious attack, only Fothen could follow him
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0043-1.png

But still Linus is too strong for Fothen, who is left behind. Gerdemann can see now the final metres of the race
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0046-1.png

And Linus Gerdemann is the new old champion of Germany, he defends his title! And this was the sixth title for Team Columbia in 2009!
i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp244/alexkr00/PCM0051-1.png

some more transfer news

Important riders that got their contract renewals just befour The Tour: Nibali, Rast, Visconti (Sad), Pellizotti, Gusev, Lang, Popovych, Joly, Vockler, Langeveld, Anton, Millar, Tombak, Iglinksiy, Posthuma.

It seems that Team Columbia is negociating with a big name, that wasn't reminded in the previous news. He is a young rider, one of the great stage racers at the moment and the future GT champion, still we can't give his name as nobody from the team or cyclist's staff commented it.

Hmmm, Gesink?
