I've been playing around with my Polish WT team (Nerz the only foreigner) and either something is messed up with my difficulty settings, or the game is way easier than PCM11. I usually play on hard switching to 1,35 or 1,4 difficulty setting with strong teams.
Thing is that except for Majka, Kwiato and Niemiec my team is pretty average and definitely lacks even half-decent MO helpers. I've signed Nerz only because Niemiec started degrading and needed at least one good supporter for Grand Tours. Still - with hard setting and that team I would expect some good results but not like these.
2014 went pretty normal: wins in Vuelta and TdP with Kwiato (thanks to good fitness plan) except maybe for the 4th place in WC, a race in which I've always been bad.
Then in 2015 all hell broke lose:
Kwiato won Gent-Wevelgem in his first start of the season
Then he has claimed also Pais Vasco and Amstel Gold.
Majka did a very decent Giro finishing second - even though he has lost over 10 minutes to Froome.
Kwiato came back to win Suisse and Tour de France (lots of cobbles to be fair. Contador crashed at Roubaix and lost over 6 minutes on that stage, while Froome was definitely feeling the Giro in his legs - both lost over 8 minutes to Kwiato in GC and the fight was against Quintana +3 minutes and Uran +6 minutes). BTW - Puy de Dome stage was simply brillant - +rep for the designer.
Finally and most unexpectedly:
1. Maciej Bodnar made a successful last 10km attack at Valkenburg to win Eneco by 30 seconds
2. In the last 8km of Vattenfall my "sprint train" consisting of Kamil Zieliński, Domink Nerz and Maciej Paterski broke from the pack (with almost no wind) to claim the whole podium
Currently after 4 stages of Vuelta (incl. Sierra Nevada) Kwiato is just behind Porte, Conta and Betancur with everyone else already trailing by over 1 minute. All that having lost 1:30 in TTT.
It's fun to achieve such results, but could have been more difficult. Wondering how much will my ass hurt on extreme...
And one more interesting observation - in 2015 ther is a tough battle for remaining in World Tour. Toughest I've ever seen, since usually there have been 3 teams trying to avoid relegation, getting no results at all and everything was decided before Vuelta started. It was just like that in 2014 when FDJ and Europcar got relegated.
In 2015 there are 7 teams (sic!) trying to avoid relegation - all have between 270-370 points and score from time to time:
AG2R
Garmin
Tinkoff-Saxo
Lampre
Cannondale
Lotto
Orica
Very enjoyable fight to watch. And it looks like it may go on until Beijing. |

So, I've been playing a small career with a custom CT team, and we were doing pretty well. We were fourth in the rankings halfway through the season, and then suddenly, Craig Lewis (who I think retired this year) got 83 hill stat. 83. Also Nathan Brown won the USPCC, against Kelderman and Zabriskie. I'm playing on Normal with 0.3 evolution. Why is this crazy progress happening?

You must have messed up something with game settings, random potential or sth. In my DB these are the max stats of Craig Lewis:
FLT | MO | COB | TTL | PRL | SPR | ACC | END | RES | REC | HL | FGT | 68 | 71 | 61 | 66 | 67 | 63 | 67 | 67 | 66 | 66 | 73 | 82 |

This is just unreal, im really mad about this.. Im playing a career with United Healthcare, Im using fdb2013 with some modifications, created some teams and added some races... So I have Isaac Bolivar, 2013 ITT colombian champion, and Tomas Restrepo also a great ITT for the future... they both have 70tt, Bolivar 70mo and Restrepo 65mo...
I thought I won the national itt, by far... and suddenly, Betancur... yes Betancur, took it... he is an awful TT, dont remember his stat but im guessing is less than 65... but 78mo... and he also won the route race... thats just wrong...
Look
Well... my career so far its being hard... only got 1 sponsor objective from 4... Lucas Euser is my strogest rider for stage races, and have a lot of sprinters but not good enough... Im in april 24 racing in Turkey and in Colombia NC...

Well, the TT is really hilly, so it's quite logical actually(look at the reaults lf the Vuelta 13 TT f.e)

yeah, hilly TTs (as that one is) favour climbers rather than pure TTists - hence Betancur, Uran and Duarte doing well
also, isn't the RR just a flat circuit with a big mountain at the end (or it used to be on PCM, I haven't played that in about 2 versions), also a great reason why Betancur won that too |

Enjoying Giant-Shimano a lot! Dumoulin broke away late to take 3rd in MSR which was awesome. Degenkolb crashed out in E3 so missed all the big cobbles, but De Baker finished Top20 in all of them as compensation. Finally Kittel took 3 wins in the Giro, finishing 2nd in Points (8 behind Nibali, so that was amazing!). Really different team from what i normally play and i can't wait to do transfers, have 6 riders leaving me so plenty of room to grow.

Second season with Movistar is well underway. I have replaced Quintana well as my results show that.
Kwaitkowski has won TDU, Milan San Remo, and all 3 Ardennes classics. He is currently leading overall at Romandie.
Pinot won Paris Nice ahead of Valverde. Valverde hasnt had the best of seasons. Crashed on the final hilly stage of Catulunya, losing his top 5 GC and my sponsor goal of winning it was long gone. Pinot took a stage win and 2nd in GC at Pais Vasco with Valverde taking a stage win and 3rd in GC.
Pinot and Barguil has progressed to 80 overall mountain and will be riding the Tour with Valverde and also the Vuelta. Not sure my leader will be at the Tour as Valverde will be defending his crown.
The Giro will be for Majka, Roche and Inxausti, with the later possibly leading the team. Lobato will be there for sprinting.
EDIT: Kwaitkowski wins Romandie with 2 stage wins

Ok, I am definitely switching to extreme or at least 1,04 stat setting.
Maciej Paterski (69 FL, 73 Hl, 67 SP) has won GP Montreal in a sprint against a group of 20 fauvorites incl. Sagan. At the top of last hill he was 50 sec behind, when the first group has almost stopped and let him pass on dot 89.
Also after developing for two years Kwiato is officially a greedy and unforgiving beast, perhaps the best cyclist I have seen in the series ever. He may not be the best climber, especially comparing to Quintana, but his real GC strength is not even the TT, but actually his worst stat - sprint [sic!]. Or actually the way his sprint works with his stamina, flat and hill:
Vuelta 2015: after Angliru, with 5 stages and no uphill finishes left FlowerPower was 1:30 behind Porte and just 10 seconds ahead of Contador. But there were two stages with medium hills 20-25 kms from the finish (Lombardia style). Kwiato broke from the peloton on dot 84 uphill and was able to keep this effort rate until the sprint finish. Porte didn't do anything until it was way too late and lost 3 minutes on these 2 stages. Add the powerful TT skill and it turns out you don't really need 80+ MO to dominate the Grand Tours.
And then this has happened:
Spoiler
On a hilly route in Colombian Duitama FlowerPower gave Henao and Quintana no chance on downhill sprint.
My full list of 2015 scalps:
Spoiler Tropicale Amissa Bongo
Classica Almeria
Tour de Langkawi
Strade Bianche
Classic de Loire Atlantique
Gent Wevelgem
Pais Vasco
Tour du Finistere
Amstel Gold
Grody Piastowskie
1 stage @ Giro Italia
Tour de Suisse
Tour de Slovenie
Tour de France +3 stages
Eneco Tour
Coppa Agostoni
Vattenfall Cyclassics
Settimana Lombarda by Bergamasca
GP de Montreal
Vuelta Espana +6 stages (4 breaks)
World Championships Duitama
Milano Torino
Giro del Piemonte
Il Lombardia
As for the fight to avoid the relegation, just take a look at the final results:
This is closest I have ever seen in any PCM game. Usually 300 points was well enough to stay in WT. Before Beijing Cannondale and Lotto were just a bit better than Orica and Gazprom (TCS) had 30 points advantage on them. Krezuiger's 3rd place in Giro turned out not to be enough. Shame for third best team of 2014.
As for my next season, here is the 2016 roster of Laško powered by LangTeam:
Kwiato will ride France and Spain once again, Majka is the obvious leader for Giro and early tours and the newly signed Mohoric will take care of classics for our new sponsors. Nerz, Marczyński and Niemiec will be main domestiques and take care of some minor races. Nowak will try to get some sprint victories, altough I'm not decided yet which GT he should ride. For the record - Żurek, Piątek, Pawłowski, Markowski, Zając, Pawlak and Mazur are scouted. Turns out I only lack a decent cobble rider, but Bodnar will definitely try something. And I also want that World Championship once again!
If you're interested in all the WT results so far:

After my DB troubles I have started with Danish Continental team Riwal Cycling Team.
With my team leader and best rider being Alex Rasmussen. I am focussing on one day races and flat races.
Aistrup has provided some much needed backup and has chipped in with a few results. But I am into April and have achieved my sponsor goals so far but we haven't won a race yet. We have been close on a number of occasions.
It is good fun fighting for every stage in the hope I will get my first win.
I plan on keeping the team 100% Danish and take them up to the World Tour. I very much doubt I will get promotion this season.

I'm the 5th best CT team in the rankings, does anyone know where I need to finish for promotion to PCT?

If you're 5th best CT team, you need to beat the no.5 from the bottom of PCT.

I have had my first win of the season. Alex Rasmussen won the Rutland- Melton Classic before going on to win Himmerland Rundt and GP Moscow.
Aistrup managed to sprint to 5th place at the GP San Giuseppe.
Jonas Jorgenson also finished 2nd at Tour of the Battenkill.
We are now 10th in the CT rankings, 2nd best CT team and 34th in the CQ Rankings. So far it has been a good April/ start of May for the team.

dot 85 => dot 89 => last km uphill sprint => Mohoric wins 2 stages and GC Tour Down Under. On extreme. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. It seems like AI slows down on the last km before the final climbs/sprints in hilly stages. |

Ey, I have a problem in my carreer. I have some riders edited and selected the option that They Will retire after the season. I have done that with Voigt, Zandio, Lee Davis, Horner, Garate and some others. But when I started a carreer with Sky, he has a contract until 2015 (The DB starts in 2014), and I checked by the others: And all riders has still a contract until 2015... I have selected the right DB, and when I checked with the editor, these riders still selected They Will retire... Does somebody know a solution?
Thanks!
Always see the bright Side of life!

If you edited this in an ongoing career you should edit DYN_Contract_Cyclists as well.

Also started playing the game again... (ty Giro, now my homework suffers from it again...)
PCMDaily DB 2014 SpringUpdate.
Level: Hard.
Started with Orica, and signed 4 guys to get a bigger roster (Ewan, Flakemore, Dibben and Ruijgh).
AUS-TT didn't go completely as I wanted, 4th with Hepburn
NZ-TT and RR both 3rd
AUS-TT won with Cameron Meyer, after attacking from the start, getting in a break with 10 and dropping Renshaw on the final climb.
After that the TDU came, and that was a huge success for Howard with 3 stage wins. Clarke also took a stage and finished 3rd in the GC, which was won by Ulissi after a dominant win on Willunga.
Now upto Qatar, where Goss is failing hard and the Herald Sun where Lancaster is in a great position if he can survive the hilly stages.

Sounds good fjhoekie.
Now I've started a career with Lotto, and am enjoying it so far. Using the new spring update, playing on extreme.
TDU went ok with Henderson getting a couple of podiums along with the points jersey. Gallopin also got 7th overall and a 3rd place on Willunga. Ulissi also took my edition, after attacking away on stage 3.
Greipel then won a couple of stages in the Volta a Mallorca, getting him the points jersey. Hansen then took the Mountains jersey in Andalucia which was good and VDB got 6th overall.
Then got 4th at Omloop with Roelandts and 4th at Kuurne with Greipel, a good start to the classics season. Cancellara won both easily.
Now at Tirreno and PN. In Italy Greipel is fighting for wins while in France VDB is going for the overall and is well-placed so far. |
