Transfer Season 13/14
Ian Butler
Interesting signing. Really surprised that nobody else wanted to sign Vantomme, he's a good rider, like you said.

Oroz and Urtasun off to Chile with new team PinoRoad

And great signing for Roubaix! Vantomme will really bring in some good results. Opportunity missed by some other bigger teams there

According to Twitter, Rovny and Trussov sign with SaxoBank.

Alakagom
They did indeed, they have been part of the training camp I posted on last page.

Seriously? Rovny and Trussov are the great new signings? My oh my, get the fuck out of there Nico while you can. And Brammeier joining a load of other Irish at Synergy Baku. Interesting. I wonder why there are so many Irish there, anybody know?

brewers90
There are 2 Irish riders at Synergy, Brammeier and McConvey. That's not loads.

Well David McCann is one of the managers of the team, along with Jeremy Hunt, so that is probably why.

Lol at the latest offer for Samu Sanchez!

An Australien amateur team, riding in the National road series, wrote an open letter to Sanchez. Definitely one of the weaker teams - Cellarbations RT. Gotta love some things they offer:

Suine admits that restrictions on his team’s finances mean that he cannot offer Sánchez a salary, but he outlines an attractive package of other incentives. “We would certainly be able to provide you with free race entry and transportation, free team kit, as many energy bars and vitamins as you could ever need, and coaching by ex-Saxo and Sky directeur sportif, Mr Scott Sunderland, who also coached CRT in 2013,” says Suine. A Sydney restaurant has also offered to provide “tapas-themed dishes” to accommodate the Spaniard.

He adds that the Spaniard would need to find his own accommodation, but there is the chance of bedding down on an inflatable mattress in team direction Russell Menzies’ house. “He is yet to confirm whether he has raised it with his wife, however as you are a supremely fit and undoubtedly good looking Latin man, we think she will approve,” says Suine.

Suine further reveals: “As things stand right now, he hasn’t said yes – or no. Sure it’s a long shot. But if you never ask, you never find out."

Wonder if he will ever respond to this great offer Smile

Haha! I LOVE IT! This is humoring and ridiculous enough that Samu should just take the offer. At the very least he will get a good laugh out of it Wink

Tinkov was pretty clear about not making superstar signings for 2014.

I can bet that EBH will likely be joining Saxo this year as one of their bigger signings, unless improves over 2012 season drastically.

It will be intresting transfer season for Sky too. With Wiggins gone, that is hughe part of their budget free for a world class rider. With also likes of EBH and JTL contracts up, they leaving will free up the budget massivelu. A big name or two will be coming in.

I just wonder who Sky will surprise us with as there main signing of the transfer window Frown

Wchich one? This season? Well it's already done, so Nieve. In long term though I see Sebastian Henao.

Next year? Depends how Dombrowski develops through the year, but as they have both Froome and Porte ( so no need for another big name stage racer ) they will be seeking a major classics rider or maybe a punchy sprinter ( that is if EBH leaves ). I dunno how contracts are for big stars, but someone like Vanmarcke will be approached by Sky for sure.

In some respects i feel sorry for EBH, but you have to admit he has failed to deliver on so many occasions Frown

Froome will leave Sky after 2015, though. I thought I read that somewhere. Or was that Porte? Embarassed one of the two, anyway.

Any idea on how good S. Henao is? Can he be better than his brother?
