Garmin - End of 3rd Season - Continue in PCM11
roturn
Yes. I will race all PT races. LL Sanchez and Goss are my men for this race. I still decide if I will post them mixed as I play the stages or to finish the two races first before posting the TdS.

tsmoha
Definitely a good 6th with Haussler in Dauphine's 7th stage Smile

Imo, you should finish the two races first and then post TdS separately, otherwise it would maybe become to confusing Wink

roturn
Thanks Tsmoha. I am going to do it like you said. So Zeeland and Dauphinee`s final stages first and then the TdS.

DELTA Tour Zeeland - Stage 3
Terneuzen - Terneuzen
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-1.jpg
The final stage is a flat but hard stage. Several cobbled sections and a heavy wind can make this stage so unpredictable. With Farrar in the lead we will give everything to take the win.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-2.jpg
10 riders in the break. All of them are just ~1min behind the American. So we really need to take care of them.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-3.jpg
Duggan and Dao are doing a good job today. The maximum advance is at 5 minutes and freezing there until 100km to the finish.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-4.jpg
Then another attack out of the peloton. Two Saxobank guys, Schär and Rollin, Tankink (Vacansoleil) and Bakelants (Omega). Also Timmer (Vacansoleil) tried it but without success.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-5.jpg
Later Katusha and Cofidis overtook the main work. So our riders were able to relax a bit again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-6.jpg
With 20km to go Tankink attacked out of the break and just Slagter was able to follow with some meters behind. All other riders obviously gave up already.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-7.jpg
Tankink could become a danger with the 20s time bonus as winner, so also Vansummeren and Felline are doing the pace now. These two guys are of course able to ride a very high pace over a longer time. So the gap melts extremely fast and Tankink won`t have a chance to win this stage probably.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/ZL-3-8.jpg
A shame because he should have won with less than 30s advance. Now Boonen takes the win and Farrar was blocked and not able to get some bonus seconds.
This means, Boonen will overtake him by 2s and wins the Tour Zeeland. What a shame. Also Van Avermaet gets a podium overtaking Boom today.

Bad luck in Zeeland Sad It was a tricky situation with Tankink in the break, so Garmin had to limit the lead to around 30s.. loosing a stage-race by 2 seconds (+ points-jersey by 1 point) is a pity; but you did well, 2nd and 4th is not that bad Wink

FreitasPCM
Now that was just bad luck... Hopefuly the rider who blocked Farrar will get disqualified. Pfft

Anonymer
too bad you lost in zeeland, but 3 riders in top10 (6 in top20) overall is very good

BikeRoel
that was bad luck, hope you can get your revenge on Boonen on the next race of an other round. But good looking GC roturn Smile

Thanks all. It was indeed very close. I expected Farrar to be strong enough to get at least the 3rd for bonus seconds. Also Boonen looked weak after the 2nd stage, so I didn`t expected him to win the 3rd.
But in general a really good result for us of course as Anonymer said.

Criterium du Dauphinee - Stage 8
Nice - Nice
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-1.jpg
The finish stage of this year`s Dauphinee leads over a very hilly route around Nice. Sadly I forgot to change this stage as I was already quite annoyed of it last year with thousands of waves all over the stage on very narrow roads.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-2.jpg
After a few kilometers a group around Danny Pate was able to create a small gap. But with jsut 1min ahead the advance froze.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-3.jpg
After 40km everything was together again and this time it`s Houanard (Skil) in a solo breakaway.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-4.jpg
On the 2nd mountain sprint Pauriol (Movistar) attacks and is able to get away of the favourites. As 10th in the overall he is still a danger for some riders ahead of him, so many teams are doing a high pace now.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-5.jpg
Last climb and Cancellara attacked ahead of the KoM. Fuglsang decided that this is the last chance to improve and tries to follow immediately but the Suisse is already a bit ahead.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-6.jpg
But nevertheless the Dane was able to join him after the descent. A very strong performance once again.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-7.jpg
No luck today. A few kilometers to the finish the peloton is there again and Riblon with the next attack.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-8-8.jpg
In the hilly sprint finish Menchov was the strongest. He opened a gap and no one was able to overtake him afterwards.
Fuglsang as 5th with a great result after spending all his energy to catch Cancellara. He was definitely one of the strongest in this race, but the 6th doesn`t really shows this.
Also Kreder as 16th in the overall showed his new strength.
But especially due to the long ITT no one was able to challenge Cancellara.
Next year there will be more mountains in the Dauphinee for sure, so he might go for the TdS then.

Tooom3k
Cancellara winning Dauphine with more than a minute. He is in a great shape Wink

BikeRoel
this is again bad luck, but I hope you made your goal to get in the top 10 whit Fuglsang.

Anonymer
6th overall is good, 3rd only 25sec away, 7th over a minute, that's kind of bad luck. Also niche 16th with Kreder

hellboy
Cance at his best, but nice top 10 finish, good luck for SwitzerlandSmile
Go Roman!

roturn
Thanks all.
@Tooom3k: It wasn`t the hardest Dauphinee actually. But nevertheless his shape must have been great.
@ Anonymer: Thanks. Indeed the podium was close. Fuglsang was always showing himself in the hard stages.

The Tour de Suisse is the biggest cycling race in Switzerland. It`s a 9-day-race with normally one prologue and another ITT, some mountain stages and some flat stages. So it`s a perfect preparation for the Tour. This is one reason for the very strong field here year for year.
It was first held in 1933. The record winner is the Italian Pasquale Fornara with 4 wins.

Last year we had a quite hilly and time trial variant in Switzerland. This will definitely be different this year.
Also LL Sanchez will be in a better form this year as he is riding the Tour de France instead of La Vuelta.

With Sanchez we will have a great rider here. He will be in a good shape and so going for a podium. With Stetina, Kessiakoff and also Löw, who starts to improve, he has 3 strong helpers in the mountains.
Goss is our man for the sprints with Hunter and Fischer supporting him.
Millar and Fischer are also good riders for a break.

A very strong start list in the TdS this year. Especially Astana and Leopard with at least 3 favourites each might control the race. Most of them will also take part in the Tour, so their form should be great.
But also Euskaltel, HTC, Garmin, Movistar and Omega have strong teams here. So it might be a very close and interesting race.

We start with a 7km lightly hilly prologue. Top favourites are of course Contador and Martin, but also Sanchez is expected to do well.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-2.jpg
Tejay Van Garderen didn`t ride the Giro this year, so he might be HTC`s leader in the Tour de France, where he can definitely aim for a top10.
10'35

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-3.jpg
Richie Porte improved very well and is also a favourite here also his two team mates Gesink and Schleck should still be a bit better on routes with less time trials and more mountains.
10'21

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-4.jpg
S.Sanchez isn`t on the top level he once was but still a good bet for the top10 in almost every hard race.
10'32

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-5.jpg
Peter Sagan is one of the best puncheurs with sprinter skills. For a top result he might suffer too much in the mountains but as multi talent he is of course a good bet for the yellow jersey after the prologue or the first flat stages.
10'26

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-6.jpg
F.Schleck on the way. It`s still not totally sure if he will ride the Tour as helper for Contador. He could also go for the Vuelta as team leader.
10'41

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-7.jpg
Robert Gesink could reach a podium in the GT`s. But as part of the Leopard Trek team he might have to support Andy primarily.
10'39

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-8.jpg
Lövkvist signed with Omega before the season. Since then you haven`t seen very much of him.
10'23

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-9.jpg
Tony Martin is the big favourite today. But on the big mountains he might not be strong enough. He takes the lead.
10'07

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-10.jpg
Igor Anton is definitely a great climber, but his time trial skills can still be improved.
10'40

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-11.jpg
Time for Luis Leon Sanchez. With a very good ride he takes the 2nd behind Martin. A good start for him.
10'13

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-12.jpg
Kreuziger is the last former Liquigas stage racer after Nibali, Kiserlovski and Basso left the team. He also improved very well and is a podium favourite for the Tour. Also today he showed a strong performance. His form seems to be great. 1s faster than Sanchez.
10'12

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-13.jpg
Andy Schleck is doing better than his brother but also not the best time trialist. He must gain time in the mountains for sure.
10'37

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/TdS-1-14.jpg
Contador starts last. He is the big favourite for the Tour de France again.
And he proves his strong form with the win today beating Martin`s time by 2s.
10'05

So most favourites proved a strong form here towards Le Tour. Also LL Sanchez showed a great start as 4th. These mountain stages are going to be great for sure.

Sorry, that these db using?
do I could put the link?
or will come out any better?
Thank you

Anonymer
Indeed a very strong startlist, but top 10 should easily be possible again with Sanchez - good prologue result, keep going

roturn
Thanks Anonymer. Actually I hope for more than a top10, but this will be very hard I think.

@lld: Not 100% sure what you meant. I use the ASO DB 2010 by Oleg. I just edited a lot to bring the 2011 teams/jerseys, some more teams as also lots of new races into the game.
So it`s hard to upload my db as it contents many files I would probably miss. I don`t even know exactly what exactly was in the DB before I started editing.
So you might have to wait for Oleg`s 2011DB, which should be published soon.

@roturn: Thank you very much, as he had seen the leopard trek team and the movistar, and you asked.

well, nothing will have to wait.

Garmin Contracts

Renewing

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/Duggan.jpg

After a long discussion we decided to renew Duggan`s contract. One reason was that the market isn`t very full with US Americans, but our sponsor wants more in our team than the 5 we actually have.
More important was that he is doing a very loyal and good work supporting our leaders, who asked for this renewing.

2011:
Top10: Stage 20, Vuelta a Espana

2012:
14th, Criterium International overall

Leaving riders

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/rojasgil.jpg

Rojas Gil is one of our sprinters that must leave the team because of too many sprinters in this team. With the decision to stay more American/Australian, it was clear that Farrar, Goss and Haussler would stay, while the others had to leave. We wish him all the best and are sure that he will do his best until the end of the season. Austria and Vuelta still ahead of him.

2010:
7th, Milan San Remo
7th, Paris - Tours
1 stage, Tour de Pologne

2011:
2 stages, Vuelta a Espana
3 stages, Tour of Austria
7th, UCI World Championships

2012:
15th, Volta a Catalunya
7th, Bayern Rundfahrt

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/hunter.jpg

Robbie Hunter also leaves the team. With 35 it`s time to look for a new challenge. He definitely wants to continue his career.

2010:
13th, Tour Down Under
1 stage, Amgen Tour of California

2011:
1 stage, Tour Down Under
5th, Tour Down Under

1 stage, Tour Mediterraneen
1 stage, Niedersachsenrundfahrt
5th, Niedersachsen overall

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/fischer.jpg

Fischer is also one of the riders that will leave the team. He was always a loyal helper on every terrain. But he constantly decreased, so he might go for a smaller team as Zabriskie did last year.

2010:
1 stage, Vuelta a Pais Vasco
1 stage, Tour of Pologne
Point jersey, Tour of Pologne
KoM, Paris Nice
7th, Vattenfall Cyclassics
1st, Sparkassen Giro

2011:
3rd, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
2x top 10, Vuelta a Espana

2012:
2nd, Niedersachsenrundfahrt overall
Point jersey, Niedersachsenrundfahrt

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/millar.jpg

Millar was one of our very successful riders in the previous 3 years, but with 35 he will end his career.

2010:
1 stage, Volta a Catalunya
2nd, Volta a Catalunya overall
11th, UCI Worlds Road
13th, UCI Worlds ITT
9th, Tour of Britain overall
1 stage, Vuelta a Murcia
1st, Vuelta a Murcia overall

2011:
1 stage, Tour of Britain

2012:
10th, Vuelta a Murcia overall

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/lowe.jpg

Lowe was rarely able to reach his potential. So he will have to leave the team after several seasons.

2010:
1x top10 stage, Giro d`Italia

2011:

15th, Volta a Catalunya overall

2012:

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Sonstiges/meier.jpg

Christian Meier also was a good helper over the years, but he also leaves the team to make room for younger riders.

2012:

Also Matthew Wilson will leave the team due to his age. But he was always a good helper.

2010:
15th, Münsterland Giro

2011:
Top10: Stage 20, Vuelta a Espana

2012:

So our team will have 23 riders for the next season + the young French talent Souchon before the transfer period starts.
Main goal for this period are a good puncheur and especially some more American rides.

Batista15
That´s almost a new team next season Smile But I´m sure you will have still a great team squad..looking forward to the Tour mate
