Scarponi have really emptied himself and that last part is deadly when you dont have much strength left |

Btw, if someone here is more clever than me, then small info from Szmyd - his medium SRM power was 356 during TT doday. Guess it says sth about toughness of this climb?
PS: Scarponi without yellow bar, 1 minute behind Garzelli.

I guess Gerdemann states the fact that you can not have stages like this if you want a clean peloton.

Szmyd just said on Polish Eurosport, that gravel part is tougher this year, as gravel is softer than two years ago. That's why it gonna be bit easier for Evans, who is lighter than Basso.
But, well, if we compare intermediate times with 2 years ago, it doesn't really make a time difference, as times of second part are quite similar (if intermediate is exactly at the same point this time).

And why is that? That Gerdemann's not a natural climber does not mean that you can't have stages like this. |

If Gerdemann is a clean rider, I'll eat my shoes.
He's the guy I least trust in the entire peloton. He'd stab his grandmother for a race win.
And speaking of clean riders....notice how the stage times aren't anywhere near the best times from 2008.
Speaking of riders on drugs. Gadret is third.

Garzelli's ride was astonishing he's going to win this with no real competition. Where was this guy last week?

Arroyo hit the 1k to go about 20 seconds faster than Martin, who finished in 44:00.
So, we're probably looking at a range of 43:20-44:00 or so for Arroyo, depending on how much he has left. |
