British teams have a reputation for chopping down everything that moves
is a very dramatic overstatement. English crowds prefer a stronger tougher tackle, and referees do pick up on it if it has/could harm the other player. But they don't just hack people down then the referee plays on.
Believe me, it's true. It is what most people think about British football, independently of being true or not. It's exactly the same thing with the Latin Countries and the dives. Every British person I ever talked to about the subject seem to think that every single Portuguese player is a diver. Of this is not true. But that's the definition of stereotype.

Foreign players in different countries do have a tendency to go down easier than English players do, and try and win free kicks. Yes, that's an overstatement, I know, but they do this because they know they will get free kicks only if they play it theatrically, and won't if they carry on.
Anyway, my main point: football is an entertainment industry. The way the game is played should reflect what the fans want, and the English want a more physical game. I know that in Europe it gets a bit more complicated as the English game is different to the mainland Europe game, but I feel that we can have a physical game because we ant a physical game.
I'll agree, about the bit about us playing football where athletics is all that matters is mostly true. Arsenal are the one exception, but we do tend to not play 'beautiful' football.
Anyway, rant over, time for everyone else to rip me to shreds
I agree, you have the right to play football the way you want. But only in your own leagues. In European Competitions you have to play according to the rules. Independently of how you play "indoors". Because, honestly, these rants by the British managers about diving is getting old and annoying. And it happens every single time they're beat by a Latin team.

Just ignore the managers then and let us live in our safe little world where English football is a million times better than any other league

The thing is that a lot of players in the english league are constantly complaining that it needs to change. Just nobody listens. It's insane the number of players in english leagues whose careers end early due to injuries |

Well I'm more of a pessimist when it comes to Liverpool, so I predict 2-0 to Chelsea. I think it will probably be between Liverpool and Arsenal for 3rd place this season, with Chelsea and Man Utd going for the title. We'll see though...
i agree sorry larrson but chelsea is better.
if liverpool can't make the difference against belgian noobclub (insulting my own nation ) how do except them to beat chelsea
I expect them to win like they did today! Pool really deserved the win.

Liverpool was very impressive, especially their defending. Chelsea did only have 2 big chances, and that's impressive when you're playing against them at Stamford Bridge.
Btw: Tottenham is 1-0 up |

Damn. They won't get relegated unfortunately, they never were, but it was nice to have them last. Also having less points than Derby had is quite funny. Ah well. |

YES!!!!!!!!!! Liverpool beat Chelsea away and go 3 points clear at the top. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant.
Also, well done Benitez. It sounds like he was tactically spot on today. |

The list of the top 20 money spenders for this transfer season makes for some weird reading.
1. Manchester City - 101.850.000 €
2. FC Barcelona - 90.500.000 €
3. Tottenham Hotspur - 89.200.000 €
4. Liverpool FC - 71.800.000 €
5. Internazionale - 58.900.000 €
6. Olympique Lyon - 58.100.000 €
7. Aston Villa FC - 55.600.000 €
8. AC Fiorentina - 50.800.000 €
9. AC Milan - 47.000.000 €
10. US Palermo - 38.500.000 €
11. Manchester United FC - 38.000.000 €
12. Sevilla FC - 37.700.000 €
13. FC Genoa - 37.200.000 €
14. Zenith St. Petersburg - 36.000.000 €
15. Juventus FC - 35.600.000 €
16. Real Madrid CF - 33.700.000 €
17. AFC Ajax - 31.250.000 €
18. Chelsea FC - 30.500.000 €
19. VfL Wolsfburg - 30.250.000 €
20. FC Porto - 29.900.000 €
It's also interesting to note that only one club in the list turned a profit, and Zenith spent almost all their money (30 million) on a single player.

And Tottenham is in the bottom of the premiership, even though being the team that spent the 3rd most in the transfer season

The North London Derby ended in a draw 4-4

Wow, what a game. I thought it was all over at 4-2. I'm happy for Spurs considering the difficulty they're in |
