Didn't it almost happen last year, when I was there people were getting really excited about it.
People from the province where it's held (Friesland) are already excited as soon as as it's below zero for more then two days
But yeah, there's been a few years when it just didn't happen. Mind that there's +- 16 000 people allowed to ride it, which is a damn lot to go over water sometimes only a few meters wide. You cant take the risk if the ice is too thin. |

You people knew the stakes when you decided to live in Scandinavia. Deal with it.

Actually, we'll be getting higher temperatures the next couple of days, but hopefully, there's enough snow for it not to melt completely |

Don't diss the KKK. They do good things for the environment. Like their environmental program "Keep the arctic white"

Damn, are you competing to see who lives in the coldest place? Call me and I'll give you all the fu**ing cold we have now in València. It was -5ºC yesterday, and my feet became a pair of foot-shaped ice creams. I've been doing today an exam and my hands could barely hold the pen. This is the coldest winter I've ever seen in Spain.

Granted, but you still live in an area, that, besides the hilly area in the western part of your "communidad," is practically a beach resort 10 months of the year.
My area might just have the most extreme weather. Peaks in the high 80's-90's during the summer (Fahrenheit, obviously), and drops down into the teens and twenties during the winter. |

See we here in the US, wanting to cultivate mathematical skills in our population, decided to not make things easy by using a base 10 system.
You can see how well it worked out:
