It's pretty easy to see why the underdogs don't make it.
they often have worse condition than top players. They can keep making runs and dribbles and accurate passes even late in the match. While lesser teams only can keep it together for 60/70 minutes max.
Also, most underdogs that get a 1-0 lead or are drawing 0-0/1-1, go into defending mode late in the match and that often costs them the match.. because it allows the better team to actually start playing some football |

After Brazil was poor against Chile, Germany not good against Algeria and France can't have been great for 2-0 against Nigeria.
I am beginning to think that Netherlands and Colombia will be in the final.
Tomorrow I think that USA will beat Belgium and I am hoping the swiss will destory Argentina.

We don't always loose ! We won in 1958 (ok, that was a long time ago...) in world cup. But from all the France - Germany matches in the 21st century, Gerlany won only once, for 3 wins of France and one draw. But of course, those are friendly matches. But France can win, i'm sure of that.

I just thought of something: for the last 3 world cups, the team that eliminated Germany won the world cup. Imagine Algeria had won

In the group phase, many European teams didn't make it and I was hoping that it would continue like that. Sadly the remaining European teams were so much better, they won even when playing bad.
It would have been great if each continent would have had its own quarter final:
- South American (Brazil vs. Colombia)
- Africa (Nigeria vs. Algeria)
- North/Middle America (Costa Rica vs. Mexico)
- Europe (Switzerland vs. Belgium)

You're forgetting Australasia (South Korea vs Australia) |

True. Kick the South American quarter. I think South Korea and Australia would have a more realistic chance of quarter finals than Brazil and Colombia. |

Definitely. Australia and South Korea are by far better than these two shitty South American football countries, who are in quarter finals by luck and it's not realistic at all...not.

only semi-final or later (it's true, the WC 16 years ago Germany got beaten by Croatia in the quater-final)
... not sure who to support tonight. Belgium or USA. I think USA has the edge thanks to Johannsson being in the squad but he's not starting most likely and Altidore is injured

On another note, who are you rooting for, Admir, tomorrow? Surely the people need some more betting tips, as with the exception of Costa Rica the team you root for has lost yet again ..
Argentina. First time I support a better team. So yeah, Switzerland with a miracle today!
Do not ask me whether I support USA or Belgium. I don't like any of them.
