Why are there such big time gaps in the starting order? Do they need to prepare the gravel?
To get the riders who have finished down the climb along with the filming crew on the motorbikes

Because all the cars have to go down again for the next group. It`s not possible to go down without stopping the riders. |

Just as I thought.
Even though this stage comes after a rest day while the 2008 version came at the end of a hard week, before the rest day (major advantage for this year's times) and even though the gravel has been repaved (another major advantage for this year's times), riders who did this TT back then are a lot slower today.
Matt Lloyd, for example, is a full minute slower today.

Szmyd, current leader, is 37 seconds slower than he was 2008.

Monier, on the other hand, 49 seconds faster than in 2008. I guess it's all matter of day's form and attitude - Szmyd was taking it easy, so time is weaker than previously.
So, we should expect times about 40'30'', as in 2008. |

A poll of team directors before the stage shows most bet on Scarponi for the stage

For some reason, high-ranked tennis players tend to be total s**t and need 5 sets to go through. DAMN YOU RODDICK!
Even the Gazzetta stream is laggy today.

Yeah, watchin it, but I prefer commentary when I can understand everything, not just single words
Btw, it should start raining badly now. I wouldn't say NO if Szmyd keeps the lead until the end |
