Dominating Cancellara... but most important: Fuglsang didn't loose too much time. A good start imo Smile

BikeRoel
@tsmoha: Can Fuglsang do something in the mountains to for example Cadel Evans?
But otherwise a good time trial roturn.

I don't know Cadel Evans' mountain-stats, but with Fuglsang's 78 in mountain, yes, I guess, he will do something good in the mountains Smile

BikeRoel
@tsmoha: oke, in 2009 he is a bit lower, 72 climbing and hils 74, but 76 timetrial. But i hope roturn can do something good whit Fuglsang.

Great time-trial by Cancellara's Honda. Smile

I can imagine. It will be a totally different tour with lots of cobbles in your variant. vansummeren and Haussler can really looking forward to this spectacle.

After playing your Giro variant in 2011 it must be a nice variant although I have never tested it yet.

But before still Dauphinee, Suisse, Ster Elektrotoer, Zeeland and Nationals. ;(

In my test contador wins on cobbles

@ ricotero_uy: Thanks. The presentations are quite simple, but I like to have a short overview of the upcoming race.
@ Anonymer: I also don`t expect Cance to be a big danger. On the other side, there is a 50km mostly flat time trial still coming and just one mountain top finish, without any mountains before and another mountain stage with a long descent in the end. So with a great fitness, you`ll never know.
@ tsmoha: Thanks. Cancellara indeed very strong and Fuglsang maximum losing time with 9s to Wiggins is still okay.
@ BikeRoel: Thanks. 78 in mountain and ~82 fitness should definitely be a top 10 result. That`s my goal at least. With 74 in time trial he also might be able to gain a bit time on other contenders.
@ FreitasPCM: Indeed, much too dominant. But I haven`t heard any noises. Wink
@ emmea: Sounds weird. Wink But hopefully Haussler or Vansummeren can do something there and Sanchez/Fuglsang don`t lose time.

Critérium du Dauphiné - Stage 2
Evians-les-Bains - St-Laurent-du-Pont
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-1.jpg
A very hilly stage today. But the hilsl aren`T too long to get rid of most riders. So Haussler will give it a try today. But also Kreder and Fuglsang will show attention. The young Dutch obviously did the next step this season and might be able to ride on his own in smaller races and is no longer just a helper in races like this.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-2.jpg
12 riders in the group of the day. Some famous names there, too.
Novoa, Isasi (Euskaltel), Chainel (Europcar), Ladagnous (FDJ), Langeveld (Rabobank), Hulsmans (Quick), Gallopin (Cofidis), Cornu (Skil), Ricci Bitti (Farnese), Marzano (Lampre), McEwen (Liquigas) and Stortoni (Androni).

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-3.jpg
Leopard did most work on the first half of the stage. With Cancellara they have the race leader plus a good overall rider with Evans. Later RadioShack for the stage win with Machado or Hermans, Lotto for Van Den Broeck and Movistar for one of their strong French riders Le Mevel, Riblon, Bouet and Pauriol.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-4.jpg
Ben Hermans with the first attack on the second last hill. He became a good puncheur but with a lack in his climbing and time trial skills he won`t be such a big danger in the final classification.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-5.jpg
Pauriol and also Cancellara are following him. The big favourites are still waiting. Haussler has some problems now but still able to stay in the peloton.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-6.jpg
On the last hill more attacks. This time riders like Pauriol again, De Greef, Boasson Hagen, Taaramae and also Evans.
Fuglsang and Kreder are increasing their pace and pull the peloton with them. Haussler with big problems now but still in the peloton.

On top of the hill it`s just Pauriol being able to stay in front. All other riders are back in the pack due to our acceleration.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-2-7.jpg
Boasson Hagen was one of the biggest favourites today and he takes the win ahead of Gautier and Rolland. Kreder s 4th and Fuglsang as 5th are missing the podium very close but were doing great.
Haussler unfortunately lost many positions on the climb and didn`t had a good sprint position, so he just finished 22nd. Tomorrow`s stage might suit him much better probably.

Missing the podium so close and with two riders; that's always a pity.. but it's also a very good result Smile

BikeRoel
@roturn: Have you sent him to training camps? To make him better, and i hope you can do something good whit him.

And stage two was nice good work bij Jakob to take in fifth place.

Pellizotti2
BikeRoel, why would he have done that? That's cheating.

Good start here in Dauphiné, I hope Fuglsang will get a good result overall.

FreitasPCM
The only rider sent to training camps in this story is Alberto Contador, but it's a different type of training camp, you know. Wink

Good result with Kreder and Fuglsang, but Gautier and Rolland surprised me in the top-3. Rolland surprised me the most. Pfft

Alakagom
Unlucky not get podium but still greta result and defintely Fugslang already showing his form. Good luck for the next stages Wink

Thanks all.
@ bikeroel: As Pellizotti already said. I don`t like training camps as I don`t want any advantage the computer can`t get. So there won`t be any trainingcamps (stats, preparation or relaxing ones) in my career. With a good season plan your advantage is already quite big.
@Freitas PCM: You forgot about Cancellara. His time trial was just too good. Quite sure he will show another brilliant performance in the long ITT as the prologue was already overpowered.

Critérium du Dauphiné - Stage 3
Annonay - Bourg-Saint-Andeol
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-1.jpg
The finish is easier than yesterday. So Haussler might have good chances. But Boasson Hagen is the top favourite as he might be the best sprinter/puncheur mix in cycling qutie similar to Freire in the last 10 years or a better Pozzato.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-2.jpg
13 riders in the BOTD. Dumoulin (Cofidis), Houanard (Skil), Flens (Rabobank), Arvesen (Sky), Ricci Bitti (Farnese), Howard (HTC), Kuschynski (Liquigas), Chainel (Europcar), Geslin (FDJ), Lemoine (Saur), Bertolini (Androni), Magazzini (Lampre) and De Lis (Euskaltel). Most of them are still within one minute to Cancellara.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-3.jpg
80km still to ride and some luxury team mates with an attack. Ulissi, who already had some great results this season, Ventoso, the best sprinter in this group and Riblon, surprising winner of Paris Nice with a successful breakaway.
These 3 are definitely more serious than the 13 in the first group.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-4.jpg
After the last mountain Riblon and Ulissi lead the race. Ventoso and Geslin the next strongest puncheurs couldn`t follow. With 40km left the gap is still 7 minutes as no team really wanted to do the pace alone. Also Garmin haven`t done the pace as there are other teams like Leopard, Omega or Sky, who were supposed to do it as they have the biggest favourites.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-5.jpg
Now they are doing a lot but obviously too late. So Riblon on the way to his next big coup? This guy really has a feeling for the right group.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-6.jpg
Cancellara doesn`t want to give up his jersey and attacks on the flat part. Of course he is a great time trialist but now with Omega doing a high pace the peloton splitted a lot and they will catch him soon. Also Haussler has problems now staying in a good position.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-7.jpg
Diego Ulissi wins the stage. He was the better sprinter of them but Riblon will overtake the yellow jersey and has the lead now in the 2nd big French Pro Tour race. Next goal Tour de France???

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-3-8.jpg
Lorenzetto wins the sprint for the 10th as also 8 other rides were able to finish before the favourites.
Kreder with another great finish as 3rd of the peloton behind Bennati. Fuglsang on 15 also showing his sprinting skills, while Haussler couldn`t mesh into the sprint.
Riblon has a nice advance now and isn`t really bad in time trials and also on the climbs he won`t fall back that fast to gain that much time on him. This will be a very interesting race now.
The team change really paid off. Winning Paris Nice and the GP Miguel Indurain after 2 seasons without many highlights.

Quite strange that the sprinter teams didnt want this stage. It seems that nobody want the responsability for the mouintain stages.

BikeRoel
@roturn: oke that is nice, and your 3rd stage was not quite good, can you do something in the remaining rounds?

Riblon will make this tour definitely interesting now Smile Looking forward to some thrilling race-action!

roturn
@ ricotero_uy: The problem might have been that the stage was set as a hilly one. So the sprinter teams haven`t done a lot.

@ BikeRoel: I hope so. In the timetrial I hope to gain some time again. Fuglsang is 74, Riblon 71 in TT. Then 2 mountain stages, where Riblon might be in the first group of the 2nd stage but on the MTF he hopefully loses a bit again.

@ tsmoha: Indeed. Totally unexpected change with this attack. Although I should have recognized how successful these mid stage attacks can be, I always miss/ignore to send a guy into this group. Kreder for example would have been the perfect rider for this attack.

BikeRoel
@tsmoha & roturn: I hope roturn can do something about that to make it interesting, can you get the nicest breakaways in your dayreport roturn?

Critérium du Dauphiné - Stage 4
Monteux - Sorgues

50km of mostly flat time trialing. Just one short hill in the first half will give the climber an little advantage.
Top favourite is Cancellara today but also Wiggins and Boasson Hagen are to name.
Fuglsang will try to gain as much time as possible on other contenders.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-2.jpg
Coppel with a nice time coming into the top3 so far.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-3.jpg
Van Den Broeck isn`t known as the best time trialist, so he loses some time today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-4.jpg
Fuglsang with an good time trial. Just 17s to Coppel, who is better in this kind of stage.

Meanwhile Pate with an excellent result. Beating all previous times and taking the lead.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-5.jpg
Menchov isn`t in the form of the 2010 Tour and loses time today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-6.jpg
Also Wiggins seems to be out of form. Interesting to see if he can find his form until the Tour.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-7.jpg
Therefore his team mate Boasson Hagen in a great shape. He is 40s faster than Pate and takes the lead.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-8.jpg
Cancellara on fire. How did he ride that fast? Almost 3min to Boasson Hagen.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/06%20June/Dau-4-9.jpg
Riblon of course realized that Cancellara is coming very close but he gives everything and as 9th with +4'13 he will lose the jersey after just one day but still being 2nd with a good advance.

In general this was a good day for us gaining much time with Fuglsang and also a podium with Pate. Therefore Cancellara has a big advance now and also Riblon was stronger than expected. It will be very hard now against these two.
