I love this discussion, we have once per year.

Hey, according to the UCI August 15th is the end of the season.
Stupid system... but UCI...

The funniest thing is how GB can only send 3 riders. Because they are outside the top 10 of the world tour, and because Team Sky is Pro Tour, the good wins and placings in continental tours and one day races didn't count for the CT ranking, so GB has fallen a lot on that ranking as well, failing to be in the placings that give 6 riders.

If Sky was PCT they'd at least have 6 riders in the Worlds. And if the UCI went by the CQ ranking GB would have had 9 riders (and France and Netherlands as well)

So Sky becoming Pro Tour actually hurt Great-Britains worlds selection.
Nice going UCI!

and Cavendish is peaking for it as well...

maybe that's why Renshaw got DQ'd, so Cav could get practice without a leadout.

I guess that today's winners: Greipel and Martin, are one of the ugliest cyclist in the peleton

Was impressed by Kristoff today. He was far back with 400 metres to go and started way to early out on the left side. I think he has very good potential with better endurance and positioning before the sprint.

Fuglsang to win this race 3rd time in a row? Also, Matthew Busche is doing really good.

Tomorrows, and races final, stage will end with 5 laps on next years WC course. But I doubt any gaps will appear and Fuglsang has been the best in the race so far, shown in Vejle and in Randers where he was in a break where he was almost the only one taking turns at the front.

Odd fact of the day:

After 5 stages of the Volta a Portugal, all 13 intermediate sprints have been won by eastern european riders.

The others are well known but....Who the heck is Le Gac?

As an aside, it's nice to see Reis having proper competition. Over here he has none. He won the TT nationals, then he whipped the field at the RR by over 5 minutes.

I'm interested in his results simply because he's soo dominating here so I'm interested how he measures up against properly good riders. He was 9th at Roubaix (not bad for a first ever cobble race), 3rd and 6th at the Euro Champs RR and TT and 6th again at the Worlds.

Stuyven, meanwhile, is on a roll this season. Looking like the best and most promising belgian youngster.

Interesting to see the eastern riders not nearly as dominant as before, also.

also.

Reis went 6th, behind Edmondson of Great-Britain and Polanc of Slovenia

he's a really promising guy if i look to the other results, 5th at Trofeo Karlsberg and 9th+stage win at Course de la paix Juniors..
