I must agree I felt just the same about evans, I wanted him to win in the start but now I hope i doesnt make it. But I dont want him to crash either, Sastre wins it fair and sqare!

it was always for nothing. this year was the first time that he changed his position and the UCI didn't come to him a few days before the tour and say "we've just changed the rules. your new position is now illegal. good luck"

There's been a rulechange (or the lack of it) when it comes to position this year? Well, that does change something.

Everyone's having a case of the underdog. You always want the underdog to succeed. Its most exciting when there is good racing to be seen. I always wanted to see Ullrich/Basso do something to beat Armstrong because it would be better viewing. Likewise, now that Evans has been up there, i've seen, (in my eyes) that he acts like a twat and doesnt deserve yellow. Therefore underdog Sastre should win it (or Schleck, Menchov, Vandewilly, hell, even Kohl).

every year he goes on a wind tunnel to get a new position. every year the UCI changes rules to make his position illegal just before the tour. this year was the first time that didn't happen.
they did worse to zabriskie...he was on the prologue start ramp when they went up and told him he couldn't use his normal position

Time to talk about a brit!
David Millar has really been disappointing for me since the first week. He claimed he would be saving himself to go for a stage win, yet never went with the breakaways.
I can only hope he will do well in the TT tomorrow, but he won't win it. (Bit of reverse psychology since he never wins when I hope he will )

Millar went with a very strong break on the day that Cunego first lost time majorly. When the pack split up, Voigt was pulled back to pull the first peloton therefore ending that break. Had it not been so, Millar would have stood a good chance at a break and a possible yellow. True that he hasn't been seen since. Though a top 20 finish today may be that he's getting a second wind.

Yeah Millar was high, its hard seeing a Break go though. But i agree today would have been a brilliant chance for Millar. He has been protecting Vandevelde however so obvious in a non-british view that was a better use of his time. |

The thing is, we never get to see the first hour of racing when the fastest pace happens as riders try to break, so he may have tried many days to get away, but not had it. Or he could just be tired or the team decided on younger riders needing the "fun" of a stage long break.

Millar said a few days ago that he was in top form for his season goal: the first ITT and that by now he's just dead, completely empty and spent, just hanging on for dear life to try to finish the Tour.
So as much as I'd love him to win, I'm pretty sure it's a pipe dream, especially with Cancellara in top form and with the GC contenders being naturally much stronger in the third week of a tour.

There must've been some sort of agreement today to let the 2 Frenchmen in the break, give the French some pride in their home race. It was obvious a break would win, so I think they had an agreement to let a couple of Frenchman go
